Default Opinions on Vacant & Strike as the next re-issued maps?

Well, it's official now - as suspected IW are rehashing more COD4 maps, the next DLC will contain Vacant and Strike.
I was a little surprised by both, especially Strike as the deflected bullets from a CG will reach every corner of this map, there will be absolutely no cover from it.
Vacant is an ok choice, but it was always a middle of the road map for me, not badly designed but never that exciting.
I would have preferred slightly bigger maps too, I was hoping for Ambush and possibly (I'm sure many will disagree here) Creek.
What do you guys think?

I haven't had COD4, but I checked out the maps on YouTube. I think Strike is "another" urban map, like Invasion, Karachi, Skidrow, and some others. I would have like a 2nd Afghan, but then more 'realistic'. With compounds and trenches, without a huge rock in the middle of the map.

A bit like this.

Looked them up online. They seem alright. Keep in mind, I think we're getting some big new maps.

2 good maps, would have prefered crossfire and ambush but i'm not complaining to much.

strike has lots of buildings to hide in so CG might not be so devastating, although spawn rape will probably happen on both strike and vacant

You're right, I stand corrected, I was thinking of Showdown. This map might actually work quite well.

I'd rather have new maps than old maps, even though I've never had cod4. I think people were more happy with the game mechanics in cod4, not the maps, and bringing back old maps won't make the game better.

I absolutely love vancant. If i'm remembering strike correctly i had good and bad matchs there. So i'm not really abosed to it.

I may be the only one but i enjoy them bringing back old maps. It just reminds me of old times playing 4 and how much fun i had.

Ones i'd like to see in the third pack is Bog and Wetwork. Wetwork was the shit. So gritty and dark.

where are you gonna hide from air support on wet work? lol

I think strike and vacant are great choices, vacant is actually an amazing map for objective game modes and one of my fav for doing game battles. Strike is good for TDM i dunno not much else i guess lol.

I agree with oz i like them bringing back the old maps, they were good maps and i enjoyed them. Some people seem to be getting pretty upset about IW bringing back old maps i ask you why? its what the majority of fans want why get all butt hurt and complain about IW ripping you off by reselling you old maps.

I thnk what they should have done is given us 10 new maps and then released the 4 maps from COD4 as "A Classic Map Pack".

I am just glad they are not bringing back Creek. I hated that map.

Edit:
And don't get me wrong, I like Overgrown and Crash, just wish they would have given use more new maps instead of rehashing the old ones.

I hated vacant in the last game, I'll probably hate it this game too, and seeing how the maps will probably be $15 again I will defiantly not be worth it.

Vacant was one of the most imbalanced maps in the entire CoD4 arsenal. For some reason, it still saw league play...

Do you think the imbalance is/was due to the inside/outside spawn and how difficult it is/was to penetrate the enemy spawn? I rather like this map if you can actually get out of the normal spawn situations. It's great for ninja skorpian action. And I'm kind of drunk so this might not make sense.

Exactly. Spawns were terrible playing any game mode though.

Awesome, those are two of my favourite maps, if they put in Ambush & Crossfire in the next DLC's I might even buy all the them to relive the good(yet full of rage) CoD4 memories.

TAR/UMP on Strike, MP5K/SPAS on Vacant HOLY TITS!! I'll even throw in some F2000 action on Vacant to ensure some lulzy kills.

I liked Vacant, Strike was Meh I had amazing games and shitty games on it. However I don't feel like spending more money for something I had on another game. That 15 dollars is going to go somewhere else that I can get more fun out of, like a new outfit for my avatar.

Wetwork and Shipment would be the worst maps to play on MW2.

Imagine Wetwork, someone camps with their Thermal Scope and gets 4 kills. Calls in their Care Package and it's a Stealth Bomber which would be able to bomb the WHOLE map.

Change Wetwork for Shipment and Thermal Scope for OMAlol and you get the idea.

One team has a helicopter and airstrike proof roof, as well a million tiny corridors with plenty of cover... the other side has a very open, very vulnerable to air support... nothing.

God I hated that map.

It wasn't even that which bothered the competitive community. The entire layout/timing of the map just fostered boring, passive play.

It wasn't 100% confirmed. Just from the files that guy found ages ago. Half of them turned up in the first DLC. Guess IW changed their mind though, unless they're planning a 3rd DLC that is.
