I see this in the loading screens, but has anyone ever killed/been killed by bullets bouncing off a shield? this seems really rare...

I have killed people while donning a riot shield, I think "Crowd or Riot Control" pops up when you do end up killing someone off of ricochets.

I thought Crowd Control meant someone shot at you and was killed by your teammate... it says like you make a good distraction. And yes, but I wanted to find out how many people have actually seen a riot shield kill someone with bullets

I have seen it... it does happen. Go into a private match with a few buddies and try it. Have your friends start shooting at you from close range from different angles, see what happens.

I think that a ricocheted bullet is still considered your enemy's, because a while ago I was in a private match fooling around, and I planted C4 in the plane on Terminal. Someone came in, sprayed at me a bit, and a bullet ricocheted off and struck a C4, detonating it and killing me; it registered as his kill.

Yeah, that's interesting. So would that mean that the bullet would not be lethal to teammates in regular gamemodes? Like if enemy A sprays your shield and deflected bullets hit enemy B but he lives?

I think so.

In practice though it'll never happen, the angle of ricochet won't be consistent enough to kill a guy, unless it's a ridiculous fluke with a sniper.

I would like to assume that once the bullet ricochets it can harm anyone regardless of who shot it.

I've been in close quarters with 3 or 4 enemies all spraying at my shield and none of them have died. I wondered how that was possible if ricochets can kill, but just figured it was another glitch in the game.

They can bounce off and kill enemy players i think once it bounces it counts as your bullet, when i use a riot shield and someone is spraying me down its not uncommon for me to get hit markers but ive never gotten a whole kill of of it. you would probably have better luck in hardcore, but good luck with that lol

I have seen, and been killed by, bullets ricocheting off of a riot shield. One was on the game winning killcam, some guy with the M4A1 was firing at a riot shielder from an angle, I come up next to, then I'm dead.

How cool would it be if you could just stand under a Harrier redirecting the bullets with your riot shield mowing down enemies... until someone comes up behind you that is.

I've never seen it happen, oh wait lies I killed myself by it ricocheting off of someone else's shield. FML, I have never done it though, but I have used my mind to stop the bullets in mid-air and send them back at the bastard shooting at me. Yes I am that good.

Never seen that happen before, maybe because I never shoot riot shields, I'm too busy throwing Semtex ^_^

I played a private with a friend, stod at point blank, sprayed an entire mag of rpd, i was healthy. No damage at all.

Wow, never gotten hit markers before, even with the idiots that think you'll eventually begin to take damage if your shield is shot enough...

I guess it's just massive luck huh? I gotta try this myself. People are saying it can damage, others are saying out of 100 rounds (RPD), none hit from point blank, which i find hard to believe

I HAVE killed a few people with riot shields. You need to point the crosshairs a little higher - where their shoulders or head is.

And if you move a little bit to the side, it will work.

Was messing around offline with a friend who shot an AT4 rocket at my shield which bounced off and killed him. I wasn't even injured lol.

Speaking of the Intel it shows during the loading screen. It says "sentry guns can be temporarily disabled using a flashbang", but I've NEVER been able to do it.

Its VERY temporary lol if you try and stun one then run at it from the front to knife it you will probably die. At least from my experience lol
