I want to try tactical knife but to unlock it I need 75/100 kills with handguns to get it, and I have hard time getting any - if I use them as backup inseat of reloading I maybe get 1-2 per match, as most kills will be with primary weapon (and handguns suck for this compared with rafficas). Rushing around with handguns gets me some more kills, but mostly a lot more deaths.

Either way it seems like far too much work just to try something out. What would be the least effortful way of getting these 75/100 handgun kills? (alternatively what would be the best handgun strategy - they seem inferior to rafficas in every way so far, but I'm a noob so maybe I just haven't figured it out well)

If you have Magnums unlocked, spam the premade First Recon class because it has a .44 Magnum tactical knife.kills when you tacknife someone with that class count towards your total Magnum kills.

The M9 is a bitch to get Akimbo on, much less Tactical Knife. So if you're using that gun... don't. Deagle is rofl, 100 kills with that needs voodoo magic and the USP is meh.

The way I do it is load up Free For All. Most of the people I find in that gametype are horrible so it is easy to roll them with pistols only.


I use:

Scavenger
Stopping Power
Steady Aim

For when I am leveling strictly pistols (typically I go with the USP)

Are you crazy? The M9 and USP 45 are great weapons and I found it pretty easy to get Extended Mags on both of them.

To each their own I guess, personally I found it to take about 20 games of GW To get akimbo with the M9, then another 10 games for tactical knife. Extended Mags is easy once you have Tactical Knife anyways xD

Before I used the first recon class it took me like 5 games to get akimbo with the magnums. I'm just better with it I guess

I just use only the secondary and forget about my KD.

I reckon it took me between 5 and 6 games to get tac knife on both the M9 and USP.

What I do is this:

Running class but with last stand:
Marathon Pro
Lightweight Pro
Last Stand Pro

Then UMP (or any submachine gun, doesn't matter you won't be using it)
M9

I also just played either hardcore team deathmatch or hardcore headquarters.

As soon as you spawn switch to your pistol.

Then sprint to your closest choke point, get a kill or two waiting for people to come through then flank, flank, flank!

Basically spend the whole match sprinting around the edge and you should easy get 10+ kills a game.

I once went 25-3 on a HC TDM using pistol only, it is possible!

Chances are you will get a negative K/D at first but when you get used to it you should be fine.

Also try and stay away from BIG open places and the centre of maps.

Oh, and as soon as you get akimbo use it, and spam away.

On HC games you should be able to get the Tac pretty quick, probably in just one game.

Yeh just play hardcore, USP is like always a two shot kill maximum and the Deagle can get quite a lot of one shot kills.

I recommend straight up ignoring your primary. Put on an SMG for the mobility and then whip out that pistol. In FFA or TDM the kills will add up fairly quickly.

I do this when I want to get my pistol attachments. I go negative a lot, but that's because my KD isn't really important to me. People that are concerned with it won't like to do this, although IMO its the fastest way.

If you are worried about K/D, its going to take muuuuch longer. If thats the case, I would recommend playing Search and pulling out the pistol when you are pretty confident you're gonna surprise someone from behind. If you get 2 a game, you're only looking at 30 or so games...

Getting the tactical on my Desert Eagle was so hard, it took me forever. I fucking hated it. But I got it and now I love it. That gun is so useless for shooting.

really just go for it use it every game all the time you will go negative for like 10-15 matches and then you will have it and never have to do it again (unless you prestige).
