So what exactly is the difference with the akimbo usp knifing glitch and the tactical knife? I'm kind of confused over this subject. People tell me all sorts of things like there is no difference or they are exactly the same. Can someone please explain it to me? thanks And would commando or ninja, which one would suit which of the above better? ty

Akimbo Usp's have the quickness of the tactical knife, but still have the range of the normal knife

does it strike faster than a tac knife? I know it has longer delay, and does tac knife have less range than normal knife?

akimbo usp's strike at the same speed as tac knife i believe, and the same delay too

and yes, tac knife has less range than normal knife lunge, which is why akimbo usp's are best for knifing

Btw, I still think tactical knife is better because you can ads and if you use .44 magnum you can get medium ranged kills pretty easy.
Btw, do you know which smg is best for long range? I thought it was the ump45 since its damage doesn't change over range, its still a 3-hit kill. I am thinking about making all 5 set-ups with ump45 as primary, .44 magnum w/ tact knife for medium and close range
(I want the smg for extra speed)
And then just alternate between combinations of the perks, cold-blooded and lightweight, and commando and ninja?
Is c4 useful? Although many people think its good only for domination, is it good for laying out traps?

yeah ump is the best all-around smg, my gun of choice for the most part.

I would choose cold-blooded over lightweight, you already run fast enough as it is with an smg, and ninja over commando because the point of a runner class is generally to be stealthy

true, I am planning for that to my main setup, however I am sure that commando pro would work better for maps like favela because of the no fall damage, and even though that class may be my primary choice, there are certain varieties that may do better in other situations and maps.
As another example, marathon, lightweight, and commando would do well at the very start of a match right?

I'd go with the tactical knife simply because you have more flexibility with your aim. Even though spraying and praying can be effective at closer ranges, targets at a mid-distance have a better chance of killing you, since with akimbo you are just tapping away instead of being precise.

After using both the tac knife and the dual usp's almost exclusively for the past couple of days, the time to knife twice is faster with the tac knife than it is with dual usp's.

If you're going to say something as counter-intuitive as that, please back it up with evidence. Because, until people see it, they are very unlikely to believe that:

two normal guns, putting them away, then knife is faster than normal gun + EXTRA-FAST-KNIFE-ATTACHMENT

Thank you. I thought the USP was just a different animation that was slightly faster than normal but not quite as fast as tac knife... but i'll just see in a PM.

Has anyone else used the dual usps for an extended period? It seems to me that the knife misses a lot more when using the dual usps than it does using either a standard knife or the tac knife.

I don't use commando anymore because it seems to bug to much if you are not host, but that could be because i almost always knife with akimbo usp, don't think this is the case but who knows.

You seem to miss because the animation is faster than the charge delay (how long it takes for the knife to hit).

If you played COD4, the silenced version of the G3 had a glitch that made the melee charge delay erroneously long, and it was near impossible to hit.

ty. lol I don't understand why people say that knifing is noob and people should use guns. Honestly, if you're carrying a knife and you confront a dude with a gun dead-on you get screwed most of the time especially if they have stopping power with some assault rifle. With knives you have to flank and I get most of my knife kills with the enemy's back towards me. I actually think knifing is a lot harder than gunning.

When you use knife-only it's harder. It annoys people when they shoot somebody and they still are able to kill them with commando, even with a bunch of bullets in them. Either way, this discussion is for another thread.
