well I'd love to see real sniping - with ballistic charts and all... But that wont happen, none of you would know how to shoot.

I would also like to see the kids shoot .50s standing and get owned...

I love quick scoping, but the ACOG no scope advantage and speed advantage needs to die... I hate that sh*t

Oh and by my post I was not hating towards 12 year olds I just don't like quick scopers who think they are the best snipers in the world that's all and the majority of them seem to be around that age.

L96's are amazing when silenced, and the only difference is the barrel is a bit wider and i believe a inch or two longer... That and of course the components are a little different.

OH Just to correct myself, there is 2 guns that I mixed up in my head (I need the M number to really realize the rifle). The Intervention is the M200 Cheytac. The M200 Cheytac is rated the NUMBER ONE sniper ever. It is an amazing rifle I just personally dont like it over my M107A1 or L96.

As for other bolt's they might consider adding into this... Thats really a tough one, On the top 10 snipers, the intervention and the L96 were the only bolts in the top 5, with the M40A3 in seat number 7. . .

I'd assume they bring the M40 back, .50 and the stupid SVD (sorry guys, hate that gun... Dont worry I hate AK's too so feel free to call me racist).

Although I would really like to see the L96 replace the M40 (its more accurate, better damage, a lot better when silenced, and sexier). . . And it IS the number one arctic warfare rifle in the world...

SO HOPEFULLY... THE L96 WILL BE IN MW2 . . . if it's not then they are morons who are going to give us a gun that freezes in the snow and the bolts jam up or clips mis load... HURRAY

I've heard the Cheytec is very accurate with a silencer over a very long distance and still holds a lot of force at the distance, can you confirm this? (you seem to know a lot more than i do) Perhaps they could give two options for each sniper, both with varying stats and ammunition types possibly? Integrated silencer and unsilenced. Can't wait for this game, brother has paid for it but he will be stuck at uni! and i will be finished

I cant wait to play, this is going to be the first class I take a look at. Hopefully they have the m40a3 in it but I doubt it

The intervention doesn't have that much of a kick for being a Sniper Rifle... Check out the movie Shooter, plus there's a "Future Weapons" segment on Discovery about the Intervention, you can probably find it in youtube.

Never said it had much kick, but when something that well engineered does have that kick it does, then you know you are lucky to be on the end with the weapon.

Also, it might be true that it fires like a charm in real life, but then again... The 50 is ALWAYS a one shot kill, or at least renders the foe /other guy / target immobile n useless.... YET on COD4 you get hit markers / 2 shot + kills (I get them often, you might get them once in a great while - either way).

Yes the L96 is the 'Arctic Sniper' as most call it, and looks stunning in arctic camo, so that would be complete bliss for me- i LOVE that rifle, just got another (real one) today even (silenced = really expensive, but sooooo worth it).

As for future weapons, I might have to watch that, thats the 3rd time talking about weapons people have brought it up.... Is it any good?

I love watching future weapons, I would definately suggest watching it and/or recording it. Not sure what channel it comes on but just search for it.

It's about 13 minutes long in total, the host of the show was a former SEAL I think. He's a bit of a douche but hey

the cheytacs .408 round was designed first and then they designed the rifle just to fire it. the .408 has more force behind it than a .50 cal beyond 400 yards ( approx. 300 meters )

Meh...then the ACOG would become pointless and unused. Why bother with a scope that's less accurate and offers less zoom if it gives no advantage elsewhere.

Cheytac always creates the ammunition first, it's a weird but effective approach. The 416 rounds in a M107A1 is better though, hands down. I never ever have missed with 416s, they really are amazing. Although, it is odd carrying .50 inci' rounds and such but using 416's for infantry... Makes conversions a bit harder and everything more complicated. Oh well, it cant be helped. Plus most people have a spotter and cards - So that makes it all pretty simple / easy

Well, I was told from 2 people now - that there is only 4 rifles in MW2 . . . M21, WA200, .50 M107A1, and the Intervention.... The intervention is the only bolt action of the lot...

So - I hope they are wrong but being they are more than likely not wrong... damn.

As for the silencer... It is just an attachment I've been told, you dont have to use bling to have it and your scope, but it does visibly show that it takes away from the range of your rifle... which means longer range shots are less accurate, as well as penetration will be reduced... So downs and more downs.

I also hear that perks are PERKS and then PERKS PRO. For instance, Ninja is the new UAV jammer... Ninja PRO is UAV Jammer + Dead silence... Wont htat be wonderful if thats true

There will definitely be ACOGS for sniper rifles in MW2. What bonuses they will give is still unknown but I would bet that they just give a simple boost to scope raising time. If IW has any sense at all they will make sure there is no damage "glitch" (the ACOGed M40A3 was always a OHK when you had a clear shot) so that there is no ridiculous advantage to putting the ACOG on your sniper.

For people who don't like that "quick scoping sh*t", unfortunately it is an integral part of video game sniping. I understand in the real world you can't line up a shot in half a second and get a head shot from a mile off but in CoD and many other FPS games, the environment simply is not big enough to allow for you to lie around patiently all the time and get a good score. There is nothing wrong with making a nest for a few kills but ultimately the people who get the top scores with a sniper are constantly moving and not necessarily to designated sniping spots.

To be a good sniper in CoD, you need to be able to hardscope, quickscope and to a lesser extent no-scope. There is no getting around it you will at some point find yourself in a situation where all of these skills are necessary. "Specialising" in one will get you nowhere.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
I have just finished updating the first post in this thread. Please return and re-read it if you have not already. This thread now contains ALL 5 snipers in MW2, there will be no new rifles to use. Many of you, including myself, will not like the final result.
