Use an AUG with grip and Holo sight...

with the loadout:

Bling
Stopping Power
Steady Aim.

Man this setup rocks. I am actually starting to finish in the top three again.
I tried sniping for a while and found I was missing too much, but with this setup you get good accuracy, fuck loads of ammo and its great fun just peppering UMP users who are trying to shoot you from too far away!

I dont care if its noob, its fun....just need enough kills to swap the Holo sight for FMJ now and I'm gonna tear up some ass.

Yeah that works too, obviously helps with ADS quicker, but I try and avoid CQC as
much as possible and try and benefit from the accuracy and sheer stopping power this gun has. Tend to find it works well for me..

Don't rush blindly like an idiot, plan routes, stay alert. Check behind you every few seconds to make sure an enemy hasn't spawned 3 feet away from you.

The AUG is fun, but I think of it more of an AR with a MG move speed. I wouldn't use bling on it. The irons are quite good.

Really good advice.

I tried several 'rushing classes' (i.e. with a SMG and Marathon/lightweight), but found that I lost my cautiousness about what was behind me or at my flanks. With the AUG set-up I mentioned I find I play more sensibly, planning routes, moving from cover to cover and most essentially, moving more slowly so I notice more movement. If your an old fuddy like me, it's a real bonus to notice someone before they see you, as it gives you a split second advantage to get them in your sights.

Not trying to be insulting, but if you can't use the iron sights on the AUG effectively, there is a problem. I think they're some of the best in the game, if not the best.

I'd suggest going for a different first perk. Sleight of Hand Pro is the best for an LMG, because of the faster reload and ADS, which are both sooooo slow on LMGs.

I could see using Scavenger or Marathon too, but SoH just feels too necessary on an LMG (as does the Grip)

I will keep Bling when I unlock FMJ for the AUG however, so I can use Grip and FMJ.

Yea, I do use Bling on LMGs alot to complete challenges, because I can't live without the Grip on them. Other than that, SoH is definitely the way to go.

The AUG is a great way to get a good amount of kills but lmg's are so boring they dont make for fun gameplay.

I think that silencer reduces more the recoil than the grip does... so bling, foregrip and silencer should be awesomeness. Am i not right?

Silencer only reduces muzzel flash not recoil. Good for the AK, TAR.

Noobs should use

TAR FMJ or Silenced/Silenced UMP
Launcher
Claymore
SOH or Scav
SP/CB
Ninja or Commando

Any combo of this is the easiest/best setup in the game. I like the FAMAS for easy kills also.

Tip for noobs: use whatever the hell you want that makes you happy and kills people.

Silencer: On a LMG? Best idea evah!! You will be teh sneaky and have firepower!

Bling: On an aug to give fmj+grip - If you're using stopping power then the aug is a 2 shotkill at any range so if you must have fmj I'd actually lose the grip (I think this would result in recoil similar to a TAR, but with infinite 2hk range).

Marathon: On a LMG class you will obviously have fail ads speed, so adding to it by sprinting constantly (and as such having the delay after sprinting before you can aim) is not a good idea.

OMALOL: If you're getting killed because your reaction time is bad or you run around stupidly OMALOL isn't going to help that much because you will still probably get yourself killed before you can take advantage of the infinite tubes (as opposed to 2 tubes), so you might be better off using Danger Close and a launcher as well as your tubes for their extra kill radius (just don't use the thumper, because then you may as well have OMALOL).

Whislt I'm not some sad case who plays the game 23/7 and spends the other hour of the day wanking off to guns and ammo, I'm not a total noob either.

I played COD4 up to 4th prestige, and yes I'm only level 2 prestige on MW2, and I admit I sometimes finish in the bottom half of the Kills table, but I can hold my own, I dont cheat and unless other people are cheating or being idiots down the mic, I treat them with respect.

Oh sorry supreme overlord of the MW2 universe. It's not that bad anyway, I already admitted maybe SoH would be a better option than Bling for first slot. I personally found the loadout I suggested very good, and a lot of the preferences in this game are subjective anyway.

I suppose we all need to bow to your godliness however.
