MW2 Hints & Tips Thread!

Hey everyone! Me 1st guide and its gonna be on rushing,I am a very good rusher(in my opinion).

Now classes:

The Knifing Rush Class:
For people that knife only or always knife i would have this class:

-Mp5k w/ Silencer:I choose this one just for close quarters,i think it has more fire rate but you can choose any other SMG.
-Any handgun w/ Tac Knife:You melee is more faster w/ the Tac Knife

-Marathon:Must for a rusher
-Cold Blooded or Lightweight:If you dont want to be seen on the map or be killed by air support,choose CB.If using lightweight,it makes you that tiny bit faster and for the pro ability its like SoH pro.
-Commando

The Usual Rusher Class:
The usual setup,always use this

-Ump45 w/ Silencer:Chose this one coz it is powerful,its good at long range if you know how to burst but i dont reccomend killing anyone at long range,only Close-Medium range.
-Any secondary

-Marathon:Must
-Lightweight:Makes you a bit faster and the pro ability is great
-Ninja, for rushers,i wouldn't use commando because you can be heard and you will show up on a hbs.

The Stealthy Rusher class:
Wanna rush but be a bit rushy? Try this

-Any sub machine gun,i prefer Ump45:Must put on a silencer
-Any secondary you like but silenced

-Marathon:Must
-Cold Blooded obviously:You won't show up when there's a UAV on and you wont get killed by air-support
-Ninja:Won't show up on the HBS and the pro ability makes your foot steps silent.

Techniques:
-The usual rusher never tends to get into the main fire-fight and takes the route where it's not that busy then flank the enemies.
-Getting into a 2vs1 situation has a 50/50 chance of you surviving or dying,if you are skilled then your usually gonna survive more then not.
-When you see an opposing player i dont take em out first,i try to go around and kill him so I will win the firefight.
-When running out in the open find cover as soon as you can or you'll be taken out by other peopple
-Stay to the edges to be undetectable

I am just making a brainstorm of what i can think of some noobs out there might not know, if you know anything else, feel free to post it here
1. Stun grenade throws faster than flash grenade.
2. Silencer don't hide you from enemy's uav, and coldblood don't hide you from not appearing on radar when you shoot.
3. Flash grenade have a larger radius than Stun grenade,and last longer too.
4. Silencer don't reduce recoil, it reduce muzzle flash.
5. Semtex blows in 3 seconds after leaving hand, Frag blows in 5 seconds right when you pull the pin.
6. Intervention have the same damage as Barrett.
All i can think of for now, post anything else you know

semtex blows up after 2.5 seconds acctually

You can aim Precision and Stealth Airstrikes.

Secondary weapons have different swap times, from fastest to slowest:

Handguns
Machine Pistols
Shotguns
Launchers

And if you have the same secondary on every class, your primary will also swap back at a different rate, fastest to slowest :

SMG
AR
Sniper/LMG

Probably should be more clear about this. I know what you mean, but you should say like silencer hides you from the enemy's radar when you shoot, but won't hide you if the enemy has an active UAV. If you have colblooded, you won't be seen on the UAV.

there is one thing i don't know that, when you shoot an enemy's c4 and a guy is near it, will it kill him?

When silenced, the M9, M240, and the MG4 still show up on enemy radar.

Also, the other day there was this guy on the other team who got an AC 130.
He didn't know how to switch between guns. Just fired the big one over and over. Oh, and he was a p10...


Edit: thought of another one. When stuck with semtex whilst riot shielding, if you run up to a wall and mash the shield to it, you won't die if you time it right.

I hope it is, I hate being stuck with a semtex on the shield. It sucks you can't drop the shield, even though it would leave you vulnerable to taking fire. I'd rather have a chance to run away then just sit there and blow up.

Related to that, if you know where you were stuck with a semtex, you can put that body part through a wall and you will live, ex: stuck on belly, go prone, push semtex thru floor... hit on back, back up into a wall.

but now this is getting into stuff some non-noob people dont know

LOL, i think that nobody will have the reflex to think of pushign body parts through walls when stuck wiht semtex. The guy throw from let's say from point blan, u turn aroudn shoot him, leave u about .5 seconds to figure out where the semtex is at ur body and find a wall or floor then put your body part through it.

If a window has been shattered you can see through smoke on the other side.

-If you have a perfect sniping bead on someone, someone has one on you.
-Your gun barrel sticks out the window.
-Launched grenades require 1 more meter before arming than you gave them.
-You can knife people through riot shields. Or, more accurately, everybody can knife you through your's.

I noticed today on Scrapyard if you are in the L plane, your riot shield sticks out of the wall if you are up against it. I thought someone WH'ed me but in the killcam you can see the riot shield sticking clear out of the wall. Fucking retarded I tell ya. I assume this can happen with other surfaces and maps as well.

hwo bout the zoom in rate for all snipers? which one is faster?

Here is my list of simple things anybody can do to improve their game, if you have any more please post them:

1- Learn every map. Try private games as just run about with marathon and lightweight, as knowing all of the nooks and crannies can help you predict where your opponents will be.

2- Sit eye-level to your tv. Some of you may not and do good well that's fine but try sitting eye level and your game should improve.

3- Use suitable killstreaks. If your not the greatest player putting on 7-11-25 isn't a good idea as your never going to achive it. Try killstreaks that your regurlarly achive; for instance 4-5-6.

4- Try out different controls. Many people have never tried moving from the custom sensativity, so don't know on what they are missing out on. Find one that suits you, if that's 2 then fine. Also try out the tactical layout and see if that suits you.

5- Turn your sound up. With the sound of you are turning off one way of finding your enemies. With it a bit higher you shouldn't get killed from behind as much.

6- Enjoy when you play. Probably the most important point yet, if your not having a good time you won't play well. Try a different game or do something else, the whole point is to enjoy yourself so don't get too worked up.

7- Use cover to your advantage. The less of you that is seen, the less of you will be shot. Think about where to move to next and what you can hide behind. Crouch behind things and pop up to shoot every so often. This should reduce your deaths.
