I was in a matchmaking lobby and guy got all butthurt because someone else was using his Clan Tag and he didn't know him. He started telling the guy, and I quote: "Dude, change your tag or I'll hack you." end quote.

Before the game started I made a mental note to come here and ask this question as soon as the match was over and here I am.

So I was curious, what are the risks of someone hacking your XBL Account and what are viable ways to avoid this and protect your account? I've been playing with XBL for almost a year and I've really never worried about or heard from another person or player that his or her account has been hacked.

My friend got his account hacked for no reason at all, this was pre mw2 although people can hack you but those who are able to wont tell you that they can. I've gotten tons of messages "stop killing me and my boosting friend or we'll hack your acc and get you banned" I just laugh and make them rage-quit.
