Hey all, first time poster.

I searched for an answer but didn't come up with anything.
It seems to me that commando lunge is further without a tac knife than with a tac knife. Anybody notice this or am I crazy?

yeah no ive noticed this too, hense why i dont use the tactical knife as in my opinion its the same when not using commando aswell

The tactical knife reduces the range to compromise for the quickness between the strikes.

yea ive found the same thing, it reduces distance but is quicker. I found akimbo usp .45s with commando have a long distance and quick come back

That's what I've acknowledged as well, which seems strange due to the fact that...two pistols would make it harder to knife shouldn't?

It should, but it's a glitch. The akimbo USPs have the speed of a tac knife, but the range of a normal knife. It's something that they just never patched. The addition of commando doesn't change this. Even with commando, the tac knife has a shorter range than a commando normal knife :]

This is why I prefer to use ninja with my tac knife. I can get up nice and close and never have to worry about being heard.

It's the same, the knife animation is quicker with akimbo USP's but that is all, it just seems shorter.

I disagree with the listed distances for the knives on that chart. The tac knife clearly has a shorter range compared to the normal knife.

i also agree with you opion because the tactical knife is used for short range target but one thing all type of knife is use for short range target .

yes we've all noticed it. just swap commando for something else like ninja. kniving works better and its more entertaining
