I was just playing Domination in Terminal, two guys obviously had hacked, with their 10th prestige spinning emblems and all.

Both of these fags had auto aim+1 shot kill on somehow. Not only that but they could kill through walls, very fun indeed. I watched the kill cam every time, they would auto lock on one person, get a OHK, then the other person immediately after and so on.

Pussies for sure.

Have you guys seen this yet?

Actually, they weren't hackers at all. They had just got into a challenge lobby.

If you get in a challenge lobby, you get infections (something you get when you leave a challenge lobby, gives you a bunch of different hacks until you turn off your ps3/xbox).

Some of the hacks are wallhack, which lets you see anyones gamertag completely through a wall, a huge laser sight coming out of your gun, with steady aim it gives you tiny crosshairs, which sort of makes it like aimbot, and there are a lot of other things you can do if you have host connection with infections.

Alpha was CLEARLY describing an aimbot and I believe him simply due to how common it is. Aimbot functionality isn't built into the game, making what you described impossible. You just looked ridiculous, making those assertions.

not to start a big debate, but when we get these hacks on console you pc guys are always saying I've endured worse on pc. I don't understand how it works at all in terms of stopping hackers (on console or pc), but can't imagine how horrible it must be on pc if it happens as regularly as you make it sound. Can someone educate me? Are there different measures in place on pc vs console to counteract these cheaters?

No because VAC(Valve Anti Cheat) is a joke. It is so easy to counter. In SnD, every other game has an aimbotter or wallhacker. In ground war you will see some unprestiged level 7 with an RPD blowing everyone away and going 150-2 w/o killstreaks. It's ridiculous.

Oh, and people think they are badass because they mod servers.(that they didn't create) Usually they are something stupid and overused such as Scoutzknives, sniper only w/o SoH pro effect.

50% of players are 10th prestige(including me) with all unlocks, etc.

Try playing for a few hours. You will suffer.

I won't play on pc because of what you guys are explaining... I've played CS on pc, not sure if cheating is as common there, but I'm sure there were aimbots. Can anyone explain why hacks/ cheats are less common on console?

Alpha was talking about ps3, and at the moment the only aimbot is either the infections I mentioned, or another type of infection style aimbot but theres no actual aimbot that automatically picks up where someone is and shoots at them lol. Im sorry you don't know about anything other than pc.

Basically, I know what I'm talking about, and you don't. Admit it. Get a ps3 then talk to me.

Well, I can confirm I've seen this on PC. Someone was using it on sub base and killing everyone as they spawned from the middle of the map just locking onto people through bullet-proof walls and killing them.

Well it was certainly new to me, I had not seen anything like that on PS3. I have heard many PCers describing all of that before but it was a first for me.

I don't claim to know much about it or how they got it, I just know what I saw and how I was getting killed. The aimbot worked just like the 'auto-lock' in campaign mode, you aim+ADS and POW instant lock and OHK after presing the trigger.

Played a couple of hours tonight and didn't see anything like that, phew.

Hacking seems mercifully rare on the PS3, I'm yet to encounter anything that's been obvious hacking other than randomly entering weird lobbies like 12-man FFAs, that sort of thing, which I suppose could also just be IWnet going mental.
I know it definitely goes on because there were L70 p10 players within 24hrs of the game coming out, I have a feeling most of these hacks are only available in private lobbies though.
Many people will remember the horrible UFO hack on COD4 PS3 just before MW2 came out, there may be a fashion for ruining the last few weeks of a game's run.

That's a really good idea, why hasn't that been done befo- Oh wait, it has. In COD1, COD2, COD4 & WaW and virtually every other PC game ever - and it worked!

Alpha isn't making this stuff up guys. He's a good dude, we played together a few times on ps3. He's not some douchey kid.

It's dissapointing to me that this stuff seems to happen to all my favorite games. Aimbot, the ufo hack on cod4 started happening right before mw2 came out, boosting. All I can say is that I hope it takes a while before things like this start popping up on Black Ops. They seriously cheapen the game! How quickly did things start happening on pc with MW2?

I was looking forward to demolishing Walrus myself. Imagine my disappointment when I came in here to see that everyone had eaten all of the sweeties and saved none for me.

As for a simple answer to your question...

Consoles don't provide full access to all of the files/memory locations to the user without some serious workarounds or tools that are hard to acquire. Due to the nature of Window, it's pretty simple for your average butthurt 12 year-old/Dracula to download a script which messes with how the game operates. Not so on a console.

Don't let that put you off, though. Every other game actually has advanced anticheat measures that prevent this from happening on protected servers. Activision just happened to get rid of it for MW2.

The only sort of aimbot is when you put steady aim on it gives you extremely tiny crosshairs that just look like a dot, as well as it gives you a lazer sight. Theres a new type of infections that also give you the thing where it shows exactly where an enemy is and puts a huge red/green square over them.

I never said the second part was, I just said that might be why it looked like they could shoot him through walls and automatically aim to where he was.
