Whats your opinion on them? Like them? Hate them? Let us know. I for one hate them i think its a stupid attachment. I dont belive there is any skill in snipping when your target glows white at you. And if your gunna around thermaling everybody then brag about how great of a sniper you are in the lobby I will spend the whole game looking for you. Thats my say on thermal XD whats yours?

Terrible attachment if you're actually good at the game. The tracking latency makes speed impossible.

The only thing thermal is useful for is for picking at the start of a round (so mainyl snd).
Thermal sniper+smoke nade on example highrise.
Smoke in front of the windows, pick off everybody without having to worry about being picked off yourself, then OMA to a diff class. People can still just shoot through the smoke obv & I personally find it to much of a hassle to do.
Other than that, thermal is kinda silly.

Imunality

Don't really have anything against it. I never use it, FMJ is a much better attachement for the snipers.

Pointless. Horrid blur when trying to track a target, strangely thinks snow is obscenely hot, fat-ass crosshair making precision shots needlessly tricky - and for non-snipers, the attachment apparently keeps the ACOG's increased recoil and couples it with greater zoom and sway, making attempting hitting anything incredibly fun and hilarious.

The only time I like using them is if I'm being a dick and using smoke grenades and scavenger with it. Other than that I find thermal actually hinders me because I can't tell team mates apart from enemies, also people using coldblooded are near impossible to see (witch is why I use CB when sniping on wasteland.)

I don't care for it. I only really use it when I want to change things up. It worked well on the M16 for me.

I remember talking about this a while ago, it's annoying when you get killed by one but it's an otherwise useless attachment. I always think i want to use it on underpass but when i finally did I realized it wasn't that effective..

It's effective if you play a team that doesn't flank at all and stands on the backside of the bridge looking around... other than that you get raped in CQC areas and fucked up by teams that flank.

If you want a fun way to use thermal than try this class set up.

Any sniper w/ thermal (I recommend Intervention or M21 due to their quick ADS times)
<OMA>
Any equip (I recommend claymores)
Smoke <--- This
OMA
SP or CB
Any third perk (I recommend commando due to the lack of a secondary)

It's pretty simple to figure out what you do with this class. You throw the smoke and shoot through it. Simple and uber annoying. Also you might want to have a second class with OMA just in case you need to relocate or you think you might get rushed.

yea i like them in stormy, dark, blurry etc. but i usually use FMJ on most of my snipers

I personally don't care if I get killed by someone using a thermal-anything. I get more pissed off at OMA Noob Tubers and Quickscopers who think they're gods cuz it took them 5+ tries to kill you.

I love them. Don't mind being killed by them at all, especially when all they can see is a a bright white limb sticking out from behind a wall while I'm prone and reloading. I knew they would have seen me if they didn't have the Thermal equipped, so no need to rage at it.

I put it on my Barett once, I hated it. My crosshair would be right on a guy and miss. I stick with fmj

Thermal is a attachment that takes some getting used to. However once you are used to it sniping with out it is much harder because the thermal becomes a crutch. The only things thermal is really handy for is sniping people in places you would otherwise not be able to see into (example would be the cave on afgan if you are sniping from the small bunker) or sniping through smoke (if you want to do this I recommend you provide the smoke yourself and have your first perk as scavenger or oma.)

Imunality

One good thing about the thermal attachement is that you scope in faster than the regular scope. With sleight of hand it's barely noticable but meh.
