Infinity Ward never got the "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" memo. Nor did they file their TPS reports. They are SO going to work Saturday now.

Commando is a crutch for noobs or people cannot aim.
0th prestige for me was about 90% commando knifing. But I couldn't hit anything I aimed at. I was too feeble at using the xbox controller after being a mouse and keyboard user for the last 17 years. Now that I can actually hit things I aim at I don't even bother using a commando knifer class anymore. It's not fun. I don't think it should be nerfed or removed from the game.

i think they should replace knife with a throwing knife, just for a day
so throwing knife is like an equipment, but you can have another equipment (semtex, frag, etc.) and you can't knife imagine the chaos for the run-and-knifers

Make the hit radius smaller so you have to be closer to the target (regardless of commando), make the recovery time slower (longer time to reset animation / reuse of knife) and remove commando altogether IMO. I posted this elsewhere before, but by design, knifing should only be used as a last resort if your target can see you. I have clocked up about 4 days of play time on BC2 and only once have I had a knife to the face while shooting the target. I cant recall it being a problem or prominent weapon in any other FPS either - its the biggest thing that I find stupid about MW2s design. There is just not enough disadvantage to using a knife as a first choice.
