I know PS3 hasn't seen the update yet, but I don't want anyone to get over excited about the "Bare Bones" playlist. The mode should be called "No KS" not "Bare Bones". I've heard some people complain about this too. I think they should have removed attachments too, but left in perks.

Seems like most people who wanted to play 'barebones' wanted a CoD 2 style straight up FPS. But I wonder if they can even too it, attachments and perks are built in to the classes, killstreaks are separate and probably easier to remove.

I'm sure they can remove perks. Ever been killed by someone who has lost Last Stand due to surviving Final Stand and their third perk says "None"?

Not really, I can see where they're coming from. IW release a new playlist where they had the opportunity to change whatever game aspects they wanted purely to try and appease a lot of the criticism. What do they do? Another half-assed job by only changing one aspect.
I don't agree perks should have been removed, they add nice variety and can level the playing field somewhat (putting stopping power on a weak gun, lightweight on an lmg class etc). What I would have liked to see was basically a COD4 playlist:
- 3-5-7 killstreak for everyone
- Perk 1 disabled if you used any attachments
- No Pro perks
- If you equip Commando then you lose your equipment slot.

Something like that would have been more worthwhile - all they've done with BareBones is untick your KS boxes for you, wow what a lot of effort on their part.

I would have liked to see all the perks gone but you can still have attachments, except Thermal and HBS, which would require a counter from a perk. This would have been my ideal barebones along with what they have already done.

I like the barebones as is. A perkless one would be nice like Ozballo pointed out, but honestly, you should be glad they actually released a playlist without KS's knowing them...

Remember that a perk-less playlist would SERIOUSLY ADD to the current imbalance.

tbh dedicated servers woulda made everyything so much easier.. could change any settings whenever u want

even on ps3 as ur playing dedi servers woulda been so much better or even a similar alternative.
