I disagree with this though. It's just taking advantage of a lucky situation. I think a fundamental aspect of boosting is the co-operation of at least 2 players in this sort of activity. At any time the guy could have become active again and spoilt his day.

yes but to be honest it's kind of the same "skill-less" concept if you will. Mach 5 is supposed to be a near-impossible challenge that takes intense skill to complete, but just shooting a guy who is AFK is boosting it. Yes, he could've turned around and killed him, but he didn't, and nobody else killed him until it was too late. So because he didn't turn around, it was the same as having somebody stand there and boost it for him.

No way dude! The other player's lack of knowledge that he was 'helping' is the defining aspect of boosting. It's just an exaggerated example of situations that regularly come up in-game where one player can take full advantage of another.
