Whats up guys, I finally put together my second episode, I need some more editing tips because I am not that good, also there is a spot in the middle where the audio comes back up from the game play for about 15 seconds. I tried to fix this for about 2 hours and just could not do it. So please enjoy and comment, thanks guys...

I've seen worse.

No idea HOW you could have messed up the audio that bad.

Most boring 2minutes of my life (thats what I watched before turning it off)
Font is unappealing at the start, footage is just fast forwarded regular gameplay that isnt worth showing at all, just terrible.
Also add gamesound at all times for a more entertaining vid.

But yeah, boring & bad.

I don't know either, I tried to fix it for a good hour or 2 and it would just not work, I stripped all audio and then re put in the song then re muted. When I watched it in iMovie the sound would be perfect, but not until I exported with quicktime did it have that problem...I am going to try and fix it and throw up a new edition...

Yes I can take criticism kindly and it does help. So is there a way to get rid of the VOIP and just have the SFX? Because I do agree that having sound from the gun and or movement helps, but I could isolate just the SFX. And also when I do add the SFX, how much louder should the music be to the SFX? I don't want one over powering the other...I need to obtain new font, since I can only choose from the 6 default in iMovie. Also I never knew that it factored into the appeal of the edit that much. I will try and work those things in when I make a new one or edit this one. Are there good sites for fonts?

You asked for criticism, so don't complain, I never said I was master editor, I said I sucked at editing, I just told you things that a viewer like myself, would like to see...

If you turn Voice Volume all the way down in the Options menu, that will disable the mics. To me, the music should be in the background, but still noticeable. A huge amount of montages I've seen on YouTube seem to have music hugely overwhelming or the SFX removed altogether, and to be honest, those montages suck. As for fonts, I would suggest dafont.com, look under the Distorted and Destroy categories the most, those fonts look pretty awesome.

But when I record, it is mostly with friends. So maybe there is a way I can do it with my editor, I just haven't researched enough. Yeah I never thought of music as a background, makes more sense, I always took mine out thinking it would get in the way of the music, but its the other way around I guess...

Alright, I have been told time after time no quickscoping, and I get it, it is overplayed. But right now I am wanting to learn how to edit, so less on the game play more on the editing, thanks guys. I am going to do a small edit of one of the clips to see if I get what all of you are trying to tell me, iMovie blows, but I cant complain. I am going to try and include color correction and transitions...

Well I just found out that we have the newest Final Cut pro in our video lab. Going to check that out...

One question...What is the point of color correction? just to make it softer or whatever you want? or does everyone color correct it a certain way?

Those are just 2 details to spice it up a bit. I'd start by worrying about fixing yourself interesting footage.

Well I can take care of the footage, just not make a video with just a weekend or day of gameplay. I will wait a couple weeks or a month for the gameplay...

These 2 edits I made took me about an hour...These are not finished or wahtever, I am just trying to see if this is more what you guys want in my upcoming stuff...

The editing itself already looks way more appealing, yet the footage still isn't any good.
Nobody wants to see yet another average console quickscope movie.
If you want to get attention with a console quickscope movie, it has to be on the level of montages like this:

This is the only console montage I've fully watched recently. And for less than that, you won't get much attention. While a montage like this isn't special when thinking more thorough about it (she has to be facing mentally handicapped opponents, spawntrapping constantly etc), it still blows you away, since it's simply entertaining, well edited gameplay. Not fast forwarded single shots.

Well like I said above for this video (my video), since the gameplay is not the best, I am just focusing on the editing.

That is what I wanted to see, now that I know it is more appealing I can make a better montage, my montages are just from a 1 day recording session, which is not nearly enough...So I am going to wait until maybe a month or 2 of recordings and then put one together, I just need to make sure I am on the right track for editing. Too much dead time between your kills. Try getting some quad killfeeds etc for montages as of today's standards. You should utilize your songs and syncronize your gameplay with the music a tad better. It's not the worst I've seen but you've got a long road ahead of you.

I mean I can get quads if I waited for a month of footage to sort through. Which is what the 3rd edit will be, I just need editing tips first before I can make something complete...
