The latest industry sales results have been released by the NPD Group today for January 2011. 2010's best selling game, Call of Duty: Black Ops, continued to hold the top spot for the third straight month.
Dead Space 2 and LittleBigPlanet 2 had strong debuts coming in at numbers three and four, respectively. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and NBA 2K11 unsurprisingly continued to sell well, and superhero MMO DC Universe Online even managed to make it in at number 10.
What is somewhat surprising is that Black Ops was again the only game to outsell Just Dance 2. It's impressive for a game that is only available on a single platform now that the NPD combines sales from the different platforms for each game. Zumba Fitness: Join the Party was another unexpected member of the top 10; it outsold the likes of NBA 2K11, Assassin's Creed, and Dance Central.
