While Infinity Ward and Activision might not have had any intention of releasing a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 trailer today, the massive leak from earlier this morning likely encouraged both parties to go ahead and release the trailer above.
Not much is shown; a "3" turns into "Am3rica" before missiles are fired on New York City. A few words are also spoken towards the end in what sounds like Russian.
As for the veracity of the leaked information earlier today, IW's Robert Bowling said on Twitter, "A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal." As a part of the trailer's release, he said a short while ago, "Wasn't planned, but you're clearly hyped, so here is the 1st of many Modern Warfare 3 videos coming in hot today!"
