While they might not be exclusive games to the PlayStation 3, Sony is hoping that some exclusive content from three Electronic Arts games will convince you to go with the PS3 versions of Need for Speed: The Run, SSX, and Battlefield 3.
In the case of Battlefield 3, the PlayStation 3 version will pack in a free copy of Battlefield 1943, the downloadable XBLA/PSN game first released in 2009. (BioShock Infinite is doing something
similar, packing in a copy of the first BioShock.) It'll be available right on the disc, no need to download anything from PSN. Need for Speed: The Run will have seven extra supercars on PS3. SSX on PS3 exclusively gets Mount Fuji.
Fewer and fewer third-party games are being offered on a single platform, leaving us instead with these sorts of exclusive content deals. Microsoft famously has a deal with Activision to get Call of Duty DLC before any other platform and it now seems that series' biggest competitor, Battlefield, is siding with PS3 in the console wars, at least for this go around.
