Respawn Entertainment, the company
founded by former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella last year, has launched its official
website today. And with it comes the blurry image above, teasing the developer's first game.
There is not much else to be found on the website at the moment unless you're interested in a job. The news section offers up a
reminder that Respawn is working with concept artist Iain McCaig on its first game; he's well known for his work on James Bond movies, the more recent
Star Wars trilogy, and
The Secret of Monkey Island. There are also pictures of what Respawn's office space
looked like shortly after it moved in and brief
biographies for all of the studio's staff.
The juiciest bit is obviously the image above. Given how blurry it is, chances are that we won't be able to decipher much, but it hardly looks to be a modern battlefield like one from West and Zampella's final games with Infinity Ward,
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and
Modern Warfare 2. Instead, it seems to fit in with what EA Games head Frank Gibeau said earlier this month, that Respawn (along with Insomniac) is working on a
sci-fi shooter while
Battlefield and
Medal of Honor cover the realistic military shooter space.
