Modern Warfare 2 was released, I was more than happy with the introduction of Special Ops mode (Infinity Ward's response to those that wanted a co-op experience, and colloquially referred to as "Spec Ops"). At E3 2011, we learned that Spec Ops returns in
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the form of the cooperative wave-based Spec Ops Survival, leaving me to wonder if we'd still get some traditional co-op missions as before.
Well, Gamescom 2011 answers that question, I get the opportunity of playing a new Spec Ops mission that has you playing as a bomb squad, and I couldn't help but think of the movie
The Hurt Locker. One player controls the Juggernaut (the enormous armored enemy who resembles an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician from MW2's Spec Ops) to disarm bombs, and the other player provides sniper support. During my first playthrough, I play as the Juggernaut and find myself relying on my teammate to use his Predator missile (which provides the location of bombs to disarm by marking them as it flies over).
