What would be truly surprising to hear one of these days is that a new Call of Duty game won't be coming out the following year. That won't be the case this year as -- to almost literally no one's surprise -- Activision is planning to have a new Call of Duty out in 2012.
While everyone's attention is currently directed towards Modern Warfare 3 with it having launched today, development on the next entry in the series is no doubt well underway. Its existence was confirmed during an investors conference call today as CEO Bobby Kotick stated both it and two Blizzard games (one being Diablo III) will be out next year.

As they confirmed a sequel to Black Ops and it is Treyarchs 'turn' I would be shocked if this wasn't Black Ops 2

If that's the case, they better really step it up. I'm fine with "MW2.5", but I won't be happy with "Black Ops 1.5"

I've gotta be the only person who didn't hate Blops. I thought it was a much more relaxed and distinct game from the MW series. I'm still not excited for a sequel though.

I loved it at first, grew tired towards the end. I really wish they would take a break for a few years and support MW3 until that time.

I still play CoD4, they could take a break and build it up as "the biggest selling game of all time is BACK" or some shite like that, it would be so much better.

I wish they would take a break, a lot of people are getting sick of it and it would no doubt be best if they did stop for about 2 or more years, or even till the PS4 comes out(if it ever comes out)

PS4 will come out. Cloud gaming is too far away. Infrastructure is not good enough except i n a couple of places like singapore and south korea. There will be a next gen of consoles.

you say that but what extra features will PS4 have?....PS3 has 3D support and Blue Ray.


Also the space idea for CoD is ghey ghey ghey....That is all

Extra features? Who knows but it will have better hardware. So for instance if this had been ps4, Battlefield 3 would be able to have 64 players and the same size maps as the pc version. GFX will also be much better with games running in HD. Cod runs at 576p on console despite what anybody else tells you.
