Default The Five Ways That Black Ops Changes Call of Duty Multiplayer

<span class="articleText">Earlier today, we had a brisk and information-dense presentation followed by some quick play sessions of the multiplayer features for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The easy assumption to make with Black Ops would be that it simply features "more stuff." Take the current number of quantifiable items like killstreaks, perks, weapons, and levels, and crank out a bunch more. And that is indeed one aspect of Black Ops' multiplayer.
Examples of the above include stuff like an expanded Killstreak list that includes Cold War-ized versions of popular Modern Warfare multiplayer tropes; the UAV has given way to the Spy Plane. The Napalm Strike replaces your typical airstrike. The gunship is an appropriately Cold War era helicopter rather than a modern behemoth. And there're new Killstreak rewards, like the exploding RC buggy (affectionately referred as the "bomber buggy") or the minigun called "Death Machine." But once you get past the traditional, "here's more stuff," you can see that Treyarch is actually adding five major changes or additions to what we would traditionally associate as Call of Duty multiplayer.

Really excited.

Gonna be #1 on my Bday list for December.

The emblem system seems rly cool, as does the wager matches.

Also the cod points.

Black Ops may outgun MW2. next thing you know, you're going to have a Black Ops forum with their own mimics of GhostHands, ViS VooDoo and other ones we have come to love (OR DESPISE) here on MW2F.

Yeah all the new things seem to only make the game better, i herd there is no stopping power too which is awesome since you can be more experitmental with all the perks. but also I herd that there is less perks or something, not saying its true, thats just some talk around on Mw2. Anyways im kind of excited.

Most excited for One in the Chamber and wager matches in general...

Would you be able to play the gamemodes (one in a chamber for instance) outside of the wager match? Shit looks tight, these are the first video's I've really paid any attention to for BO and since I'll probably be living solo by then, I guess I can buy it. As long as they don't balk on the dedicated servers. If they do I'll just continue to spam/troll/love this forum.

^^ Dedi's are confirmed, but they're all going to be from one hosting company. I guess this is so Activision can restrict them as they see fit.

No idea about the gamemodes, most probably be available in a private lobby with friends, not sure about outside of wager matches however.

It was the best thing in CS:S for me.

I still think that knife rule in CoD is gonna be retarded.

Game looks great, hopefully it wont be ruined like Mw2 =/

The only variation of gun game I remember was the cycling weapons rounds from Ratchet and Clank UYA. I never got to play CS:S...

On a related note, I played a One-In-The-Chamber mod on MW2 last night, it was fun as hell and I thought that it would be the least fun of the Wager Gamemodes so that bodes well.
