Hey guys!
I searched online for fps tweaks, but all of them are for multiplayer. I got a laptop, intel pentium dual core 1.60 Ghz. 2gbRAM with intel 965 integrated graphic card (lol). The game runs reasonable on some areas 18-20 fps, but when they are dust affects (like on the 1st level with the hummvies) or when I look at other soldiers the frame rate drops considerably. I know this rig is not appropriate for games, but with custom config or low res mods I managed to play some good games. I also have a desktop, that is very good, but for about a month I have to travel in my country (job) and I;m stuck with the laptop .Can you tell me how can I disable pshysics, dust, smoke, make explosions less pretty? Or reduce the texture etc, remove game elements I don't really care about the graphics! In my config for single player I disabled glow, ,distortion, fx_marks, draw sun, draw water, dof_enable, dynEnt(<- I think this one enables itself back). I tryed replacing a mod mp config with the sp config, but it didn't work! Thank you...and nice community you got here! |

I think you're on the right lines but for a config to work you have to keep the "integrety" or structure. So you can copy/paste commands into an SP config from an MP config but it still needs to be called config.cfg and not config_mp.cfg Likewise you can copy individual commands from an MP into an SP, but you can't copy/paste the whole thing as that will put a bunch of MP-only commands in your SP config and get rid of all the mandatory SP stuff. Hope that made sense, though I suspect not when I read it back :/ Basically copy the individual changes that you have made in MP into an SP config, then hit save. Another tip is to right click on the config, select properties and then tick the "make file read only" box as this should prevent MW2 from making changes on its own.

This is getting repetitive. |
