I got hacked in MW2 and mow my game is unplayable. Can someone help? Here's what happened:

I was just playing the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer a little while ago, but unfortunately someone must have activated a hack or something because the nuke sound played and "DERANKING" appeared on the screen followed by a countdown. After it counted down from 5 to 0 (at which point accessing the menu was impossible I might add), the hack enlarged everything and all I could see was a giant graphic of the minimap. At that point the host left and the game was disbanded. All of the text in the game menu after that had "CAPITOL_" in front of it (so, for example, when I clicked "CAPITOL_BACK" a popup window asking me if I really wanted to back up gave me the options "CAPITOL_YES" and "CAPITOL_NO"). I restarted my game and when it turned back on everything seemed fine...until I joined another game and realized that all of my classes had been corrupted (the "one man army" graphic replaced the grenade, a giant yellow graphic of a smoke grenade eclipsed the primary weapon, etc.). In addition to that, all of my perks which I had previously earned the pro version of were reset to the standard version, and most of the weapon attachments I had earned were gone with a few odd acceptions (holographic sight, but not red dot sight for example). Furthermore, the radar minimap is enlarged whenever I enter a game. It hovers semitransparent, obscuring everything with minimap, and the place where it is originally displayed is just a square.

tl;dr, all my pros were reset as well as most of my attachments. This I could deal with (though it's total bs), but the minimap is also enlarged and takes up the whole screen, obscuring everything.

In addition to this, when I try to register with Infinity Ward in order to post this on their official forums it says that I am ineligible to see the contents of the site ("Age Verification" hovers above this error message, but I never even put in my birthday or any age info at all! Plus I'm 24...). I don't know if this is part of the hack or just Infinity Ward being absolutely awful. I guess it's a little of both.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this and/or how to contact Infinity Ward about it?

No point trying to fix it. There's a new MW game out in 2 weeks time, just get that instead.

Yeah, I've preordered MW3, and I actually already have Black Ops too. I'll just play that until MW3 comes out. Still, it's disappointing that Infinity Ward is so bad at protecting their own game...if I hadn't got hours of playtime off of it already I'd be demanding my money back =/

If Activision hadn't demanded the matchmaking service, MW2 would've been extremely well protected. Thankfully, that's the case to an extent with MW3...

As far as the IW forum page not allowing you to enter the site, try accessing it using a different web browser or logging on from another computer. (a different IP address) I've had issues of logging into various websites due to conflicts between it and my browser.

Welp, that got rid of the enormous minimap, making the game playable again. Thanks! =)

Still missing most of my attachments and pro perks, but I can deal with that until mw3.

Glad that fixed one part! I know how sucky it is to have all your perks and attachments get messed up but after having it happen to me a few times I just said to hell with it and prestiged. Being that the new one will be out soon, it's almost a moot point to be worried about your rank with MW2 since most people don't care about it anymore.
