In single player or special ops is there a way to turn off the crosshair? I've looked everywhere but can't see an option to turn it off. I normally play hardcore and always turn the crosshair off even in single player games.

before the "you must play game how we design it regardless of how good it is" aka removing the command console, this would be an easy as f*** topic to solve - so direct all blame at IW not me if this doesn't work

1. Navigate to the folder: 'program files\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players'
2. Copy and paste "config.cfg" and "config_mp.cfg" (just to be safe) to your desktop.
3. RIGHT click "config.cfg" (the real version, not the one you copied and pasted to desktop) and select "open with >" choose NOTEPAD if possible.
4. If not go start > accessories > notepad > open > \program files\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players\config.cfg (you may have to set the "file type" filter on the "open file" screen to "all files" if you do it this way)
5. Once file is opened in notepad there should be a LOT of semi-meaningless text. Press ctrl + f and type in the box "cg_drawcrosshair" and press ok
6. If I have recalled that last command correctly some text "cg_drawcrosshair 1" should be highlighted. Change "1" to "0" and go file > save
7. If this has worked, horray. If IW are douche and decided "no crosshair" is a cheat (lol, it'd suprise you what commands they block and which ones they ALLOW) then you'll find all your controls and options etc have been reset. Overwrite "config.cfg" in the players folder with the one you made a backup of on your desktop.

disclaimer: there is absolutely zero evidence I have seen that says you will get banned, shot in the foot and told off or murdered by IW, activision, steam or anyone else for doing this. Needless to say if you were, it is not my fault.
