this keeps happening. my friend invites me to his party then we go in a lobby. then sometimes it comes up server connection timed out or whatever it is. this also happens with host migration and i have to leave. then i notice my friends still playing and the lobby is still open ffs

this happening to anyone else? my net is pretty good i always have 3 or 4 bars

edit: "host migration aborted" just came up now despite my mates are still in the lobby

Wireless? Opened your ports on your router?

Sounds like your router is timing out (if you use one). I had a similar problem, and it was solved by a new router.
If you can connect your ps3 straight into your modem and try that out, if the problem disappears you know it's definitely the router....

The host migration fail happens a lot to me too. Since I live in Italy and play with US players a lot, it won't let me connect to some people when host migrating. I really don't get it since the game still goes on, I get kicked, but I can re-join that same game simply by doing "join session" from my friends list.
