Has anyone heard of this happening?

Since we have no control over what game we are dropped into, (besides backing out as soon as you realize it's hacked), I was wondering how that would affect us? Yesterday I ended up in one of the Ice Skating Rink games w/ endless points (Domination) and was wondering if it was a hack or glitch, and if a hack, does that mean a cheat would be detected?

I've heard of it happening, there was a post about it quite recently copied from the IW forums, however it is all-too-easy to inadvertantly download something that VAC considers a hack, especially if you're already downloading "ping reducers" and the like.

Yes. I bought the game legally (for PC). Was playing online in fre for all and was placed in a hacked server/ room/ wotever by iwnet matching. Dude there was running the console hack so everyone got the effects, not just him. He gave everyone like 500000 xp per kill, low gravity, infinite ammo, etc. One week later "cheat detected. Banned from VAC servers". 100% permanant and no emails or complaints will be acknowledged according to VAC's website. ANDDDD Steam will not let you register your product key to a different account so you have to make a new account AND buy another copy of the game to play online ever again. I want them all dead.

it seems from what i have read the people who are getting banned are the ones who were in the hacked servers with the xp thing

Except for the fact BC2 is probably better on PC

OT though, this is all very interesting but I have never seen solid proof - which is really what everyone wants.

Tbh, I couldn't care less if I got put in a hacked server. And I wouldn't really care if I got banned.

It wouldn't make much of a different to my life if I was banned from MW2, but I'd be extremely annoyed to have £40 or whatever down the drain because the GAME is BROKEN through no fault of my own.
