Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone could help with a problem(s) I had that is (for some reason) exclusive to Multiplayer.

Problem #1 - I can't locate any games to join! Upon clicking "Find a Game" I just get nothing but "searching for players". I've let it search for up to two hours with no results. My NAT type is listed as "Open" and as far as I can tell, Steam is working correctly. When I try and find a game, there is a thing that says "PATCH_SEARCHINGFORGAMES_NMS" in the upper right corner as well. I can however join private games, but only when sent an invite to do so. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

Problem #2 - When I do manage to get in a game, I've found that there is something wrong with my WASD movement keys. All other keys work fine (croch, relload, prone, etc) but for some reason, the WASD keys aren't working as intended. I *can* move, but only very, very slowly, and only in one direction at a time. Pressing down more than one movement key (to turn around for example) simply makes me halt dead in my tracks. Also, I have never had this problem in the single player/campaign modes. What in the world is up with this!?

EDIT: All of my control keys are set to default.

That really sucks. Have you tried doing a search through Steam Support? Maybe there is something helpful there. If your NAT type is set to open you shouldn't have any troubles finding a game I would think. Mine is set on strict but I can get in games easily. I did a quick Google search and didn't come up with anything solid. Do you have a legal copy of the game?
As far as the WASD movements go, have you tried a different set up to see if that is the problem or if you have some crazy awesome keyboard, making sure all your drivers are up to date. If you have a spare board laying around give that a whirl.

I did try a search on Steam but it wasn't very fruitful sadly.

I'm pretty certain the copy is legal, I got it while in Europe at a legit looking street stall vendor.

And as far as changing up the WASD config to try other keys, I have changed them around, but I keep getting the same problem no matter what the key combo is. And as far as I know all my drivers are updated on my keyboard (I'm having the problems on a laptop keyboard, not a seperate peripheral type thing).

Thanks very much for the ideas though! I'll do a quick search for a USB board really fast!

I don't know about you, but I would NOT expect to find legal copies of games in a market...

Regarding WASD, defo try a different keyboard. I say this because different keyboards have a different limit of how many keys you can press at once.

Good news and bad news!

I managed to fix the crazy keyboard problem! Without using another board!

However, that's really a moot point because I STILL can't join any games at all. I'm still getting the "PATCH_SEARCHINGFORGAMES_NMS" thing (error message...?) and still have NAT listed as "OPEN".

mw2 is a great game...but without the multiplayer aspect I'm bored to tears! Has anyone ever run into a problem like this before?

DUDE How the hell did you fix that movement problem I AM HAVIN THAT SAME CRAP IN COD4 and i swear to god your the only other person with this problem on the face of the earth lol PLEASE HELP ME !!!!
