just thought that I would share my thoughts about my journey of fixing my PS3!

right, after a few marathon sessions of ripping up COD, my PS3 sounds like an aircraft carrier taking off and then shuts down. Further inspection and the PS3 is hotter than the sun! I attempt to turn it back on and to no avail, the YLOD are flashing, and so is my COD life before my very eyes!

I had already sent my PS3 to be fixed before due to another technical error, but this was years ago and now my PS3 is outside of it's warranty. I get in touch with PS and it will cost me about £120 to get it fixed!GUTTED.

I thought I might as well get a new slimline and attempt to trade my broken PS3 in at Gamestation! That went well, I was so close to leaving having traded it in and only payed £100 and got a brand spanking 80gig PS3. But then I was turned around and made to march out with my broken PS3 in hand.

I then got in touch with Game, and suprisingly after posing as a mature family man attempting to fix his childs PS3 they arranged it to be fixed................ FREE OF CHARGE!

winner, winner, chicken dinner. I THOUGHT.

The company who they contact these repairs out to aer called TOTALCONSOLEREPAIR, and if I was paying for the fix, I would have been even moer angry than I already am!

GAME gave me an account number and I contacted them, and they arranged a man to come and pick it up the nextday! WOW I thought..... well not for long. He didn't show. I rang. They arranged a new collection. He didn't come. This happened FOUR TIMES! and on the fifth they came and collected it.

They then sent it back, and when I opeend the box, my PS3 was there but my controller, power cable and another cable were not there! And to make matters worse there was obviosuly a screw loose in the ps3 and it was rattling around! I tried booting my PS3 up with another power cable and it didn't even work, they hadn't fixed the problem at all!

I ararnged another pick up they came on the second attempt of arranging it! and then they eventually pacthed the old boy up and sent all my controllers etc.

So rant over, I got it back, and it seems to be working, but it took 2 months!

It was free I suppose, but please do not trade with these people (they actually charge £100 to fix the ps3 anyway, so I would rather go through PS and pay the extra £25)

But hopefully if you have the same problem as I had and you bought your PS3 from GAME, get in touch with them and they will sort it out for you for free!
