Default Extend connection

Okay, I'm not sure if any of you know how to do this or answer my question. But I have faith. So, my xbox 360 is in my room (I'll attach a diagram soon) with a wireless adapter. My wifi comes from an Apple Time Capsule downstairs. I have 3 airport expresses to extend my network, one being about 10-15 ft away from the xbox. My connection sucks right now because we got a new Time Capsule and we're trying to figure out why we didn't set it up right. However, will the connection be diminished greatly if the wireless signal has to pass through, say a wall or a closed door? Because I like to play with my door closed, and it usually never affected my connection before we got the Time Capsule replaced. But I was just curious. (Diagrams soon)

When inside a building wireless can be dimished by walls but should not be a problem in normal circumstances. It does work best indoors if the signal goes in vertical or horizontal lines from the router to the target. Also metal and electrical stuff can cause dimished signal. This is only usually applicable in business where there is a lot of this and less so in the home. If you do not have a great signal in the first place this may be a problem and extending it may contrubute to the problem.
A closed door on its own should not hinder the signal.
I do not have any wireless signal at more than 15ft if I can help it, to make sure any crappy aerial doesn't cause a problem (some routers don't like being over 15ft away, but these are usually the lower end and airport is okay in my office at 20ft).

thank you. I think it's just a matter of getting the TC fixed... but even before that was replaced, my connection would sometimes drop randomly if i opened/closed the door.

Try out homeplugs. It acts just like a regular ethernet cable. It sends your 1s and 0s over the earth connection of your home's closed electricity circuit.

Wired >> homeplug >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> wireless.

ALTHOUGH... I have just spotted one issue... You yanks don't have an earthed connection do you. Damn. That was a great idea.

This is getting repetitive.

Well, I wanted to use ethernet, but the only place I could use it is in another room because we have an ethernet running from the office (where all the internet-related stuff goes one) under the floor to that one room. We might wire more of the house like that, however.
