Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me out, I have a problem where when I start the game that it goes to a black screen and then just stops. abd then I have to use task manager to close it.

my specs are:
a 9600GT msi card
a dual core AMD 64 5400
4 gigs ddr2 ram.

My drivers are up to date. and it used to work then after one update it just stopped.

What OS are you using?

For some reason (and I do not know why, I am just asking) have you been trying to force your GFX card (or COD) to use "Shader Model 2" for a higher FPS? (You'd know if you'd done this, just asking because using SM2.0 in WaW caused a black screen just as you describe)

Do you own WaW, and by any chance did you get the "black screen" issue in WaW after the patch that contained "Makin - Day?" (incidentally this is a different "black screen" issue)

Or if you really don't want to do that, first verify your game's local cache in Steam, and if that doesn't work, a complete re-install is best.

Windows 7, I have done almost 4 installs and tried on windows 7 32 bit, 64 bit and windows xp 64 bit. Not working.

Will try steam cache thing

Go on your "My Games" list and click on MW2 MP. Click properties, then local game data then verify local whatever...

Just incase you can't find it.

Did a cache check and nothing happened. Still not working

You said it stopped working after an update. What update was that? Reverse that update (possibly via system restore - ideally do it manually though for minimal disruption to yourself & your computer) = problem solved?

After a mw2 update, it just stopped. Not system update. As I tried on bare system with no updates.
