It would be incredibly helpful if you could post your computer specs. We have a lot of knowledgeable here but need that info.

Don't want to sound over confident, but I absolutely garuntee (ahem, err 90% anyway) that your PC is shutting down because it's getting too hot. The evidence?
* You say it's only happening during gaming (gaming = CPU & GFX card getting very hot) * The PC is on all the time (thus is accumilating heat) * Quadcores are notorious for running hot anyway * It's not old, but that's hardly a brand new spec computer, my point being 2/3 years constantly turned on = 10KG of dust! ![]() Before we dive into downloading programs to find out temperatures and making sure all fans are spinning correctly and un-clogging all the dust out etc - [b]can you confirm that it only shuts down during MW2? Does it shut down during other games (if so, which games) Also, is the PC kept under a desk in a cramped location or is it on top of a desk near a window etc? I once saved 20 degrees celsius (that is MASSIVE) off of my CPU temperature just by moving it from under the desk, to on top of the desk and swapping the nice and quiet fan for a high performance fan (moves a lot of air in a short space of time)

This is getting repetitive. |
