My ps3 slim has been freezing when i play an online match. i have to shut it down with the main power switch. i noticed it only does this when playing Free for All. i have tried everything i could think of to solve this issue. any tips?

NEVER shut it down from the main power switch as that will only damage it more

lol game modes dont make a difference lol

What have you tried?

Clean the disk
Clean your ps3 (pref with compressed air) <- do that when ps3 is turned off
play a different game for a few minutes to reset the game cache

if that dont work then i would think the ps3 is on its way out

i have tried delete the game data, cleaning the disk, cleaning the ps3, updating my connection, formatting my hardrive, non of this seems to work. i dont believe that my ps3 is going out as mw2 is the only time my ps3 acts this way

It's a sign, destroy the disc! It is the only way. I suggest a ritualistic burning at the stake.

yeah i just might use it for skeet shooting. any other good fps comparable to mw2 out there till black ops comes out?

COD4 if you don't mind less campers, less dying due to uncontrollable but skillessly-induced circumstances (you're on a good kill streak, just recovered amazingly from two runners and dodged sniper fire, just put the red dot over the snipers' head and BOOM: killed by the "CPU" with an auto-aim pavelow from a care package) and want a game that rewards skill and experience that is, by now, surely very cheap yet still popular enough to find a game...

If not, trrrryyyyy... BC2 (although if you prefer MW2 to COD4 then you'll hate BF:BC2)

If it's only MW2 then either buy a new disc or attempt to clean the one you have now.. If it's with every game you play, your PS3 is throwing in the towel.
