Hello everyone...

Since a while I have a problem which I cant seem to solve in MW2. While I play the game freezes several times and then just continues as if nothing happened.
I made this small video to demonstrate my issue:

To me it looks like some other programm is trying to look for updates in the background. It happens apx. every 10 minutes. My graphics card is running on 70°, which is really not too hot, so I assume its not the card. However I never had the issue before I updated to directX11 and installed the latest gfx drivers.

It would be helpful to get some thoughts from you guys.

my setup:

intel quad cpu @ 2,4 ghz
8 GB Ram
Gtx280, 1GB gfx card

Well, the first step would be to roll back drivers, as your GTX280 only supports DX10 (unless you made a typo and you have a GTX480).

Could be an AV issue. If your AV has a real time scanning feature, or similar, try disabling it.

EDIT: A poor wireless internet connect can cause very similar bad lag due to intermittent packet loss.

Thanks for the quick reply! Rolling back the drivers is a good idea. It wasnt a typo mistake, I actually have the gtx280 and I didnt know it doesnt support Dx11. I will try to uninstall it and then reinstall Dx10...just to see what happens.

Poor wireless connection cant be it, since I use a cable on a quite fast connection. Same for the AV idea. I use the same AV programm since ages and never had an issue with it before.

I will install Dx10 now and report back what happpens. Thanks again...any other thoughts are still welcome!

No problem.

Tbh, I would have expected the DX11 drivers to cause a bit more of a problem than intermittent lag. Still, let me know if it works.

Do you have a problem with any other games?

I just installed an updated nvidia driver and since then it all works fine. I will post it, if the problem occurs again. Until then, thanks
