Hi, so today I wanted to play mw2, so I started it, and then the game just locks up for like 15 seconds, and I wonder, "what the hell is happening?" then the game just SHUTDOWN saying CHEAT DETECTED, I was like WTF?!?! I was banned for nothing, no I have never cheated, although I did come in to some hacked server sometimes... They had everything, lvl 70 prestige hack 10,speedhack and other hax, could that be it? Please help me I want my cod mw2 back

"Cheat Detected" is different from the "You have been banned for..." message (obviously I guess) and means you can often play again as soon as you remove whatever is causing the issue, be it an innocent program causing a false positive or a file downloaded accidentally (e.g. downloaded as a mod)

To remove cheats caused by "infections" simply restarting your computer should do it. Failing this, and assuming the cheat was caused by an infection, you will probably find it in a temporary file location e.g. "appdata" however this will take a lot of effort to find. You may find it more time/effort efficient to uninstall and reinstall the game. It is also good practice to "verify the integrety" of your game's "cached files" (open steam > library > right click MW2 > properties > verify integrety of game cache)

False positives. Some programs, under certain conditions, are known to cause false positives with some anti cheat software. Generally these are programs where the window tries to stay at the front of your screen e.g. xfire and FRAPs.
