hi there guys i was wondering if someone could help me out. I have just purchased COD MW2 via steam and im trying to set my resolution to 1920 x 1080 but the best i can get is 1680 x 1050. This is quite frustrating as my monitors ar 1920 x 1080 native. I have tried editing the config file but the resloutions revert back when i start the game. Im running two GTX 480's and my rig is more than capable of running this game.

After editing the config file, right click it, and go to properties. Check the box that says "read-only".

Hi thanks for the reply I repeated what you said and the resolution reverted back to 640 x 480. I still dont have the 1920 x 1080 option only upto 1680 x 1050. Am i editing the config wrong. Could someone please expain it to me? WHy is it not letting me reach these resolutions?

Lower the refresh rate first (I'd have thought 50 maybe 60Hz is the lowest it'll go) then try again.

For editting the config manually, the r_mode entry should read:

seta r_mode "1920x1080"

Hi already tried lowering down to 59hz i have 120 hz monitors and it still wont work this is very frustrating.

Go into the Nvidia Control Panel. Make sure that your desktop resolution is running at 1920x1080.

The next thing I was going to suggest was involving changing the game settings manually through the NCP. However, you can't control the resolution.

I believe that there is also a way of manually forcing the program to launch in 1920x1080 by adding a command line in the game's properties. Make a desktop shortcut for the game through steam. Right-click on it, then go down to properties. There is a box labelled "Target", which should point to where the game's .exe file is installed. Adding +seta r_mode "1920x1080" to the end of that command line might work, but I do not know exactly.

When i edit the shortcut with +seta r_mode "1920x1080" I get a popup saying steam needs to be running and it exits.

no matter what i try it will not scale to my monitors. I tried running in 5760 x 1080 but it wont let me reach those resolutions best it will go is 5055 x 1200 totally not to scale of my monitors. I have a tripple monitor set up and i have tried also disabling my 3d vision kit thinking that may be the cause but the same problem persists. Also when i enable AA x4 the game loads but i have no objects just blank texture. no images the problem is fixed when i revert back to AAx2.

Hi there "widescreen fixer" works flawlessly for bost singleplayer and multiplayer COD6 modern warefair 2. Download here Widescreen Fixer Just enter your custom resolution, load the game, while in game hold shift, alt, ctrl and * and it will switch. However in game menu's will remain stretched, will only wiork in game. Make sure you set your resolution to anyting in the 5000 x1080 range so the displys are active and widescreen fixer will do the rest. must have the resolution in game set to those or it wont work. Great information very much apreciated hope this thread helps out those with nvidia surround having problems with this. If anyone needs my assistance feel free to PM me.
