Default MW3 - your thoughts?

^^^^^^^^^

Does it have lean-around-corners on PC?

Are the dedicated servers actually dedicated?

If you want to get XP and unlock stuff do you have to play on a P2P type thing? Or did 1up describe the ranked/un-ranked thing in a s*** misleading way?

How long is campaign?

COD owner - COD expansion pack owner - COD2 owner - COD2: BRO player - COD3 owner - COD4 owner - COD:WaW owner - COD: MW2 owner - COD: BO owner

This is getting repetitive.

Heard the maps are really small this time. Like rust kind of size. Biggest being about the size of crash. Is this true?

Holy crap, I watched a few videos of it... and usually I'll be excited because there's a new cod and blah blah, but not even the excitement from it being new could stop me from thinking that this game (the multiplayer at least) is totally boring! It looked no different...

Played 40 mins. Not shit at all. Nothing special either though. Only played tdm. maps were small. Looks like mw2, feels like mw2. Didn't play long enough for anything to be annoying. Swung my vote more towards getting it than not but overall my opinion was....underwhelmed.
Got QS'd

Also heard the dedicated servers are only for unranked games or something like that. But again not played it on pc yet.

No lean
No dedis for reg play
This is a mw2 exp pack, not mw3. As much as i hate to jump the bandwagon, it really is.
Feels like even more of a killstreak fest than mw2 was.
Sp was even shorter (read: EXPANSION PACK). MW1,2 &3 should basicly be one title in terms of sp duration. Took me 5h to complete mw3 sp. I did really enjoy those 5h though.
Some parts of maps seems to be literally ported over from older cods. There is some yt vid showing a direct building port from cod4 to the mw3 sp. Alot of the parts from mp maps seem to be ported from cod4 aswell for some reason...

Worth 55€? No. More like 20.

It's an expansion pack alright. Sometimes I still feel like I'm playing mw2. But I'll be entertained for a while. Kill confirmed is pretty fun to play. The guns do have more recoil. Yes, quickscoping is there. So far I haven't had a single connection issue. I've only been knifed once, which is good.

To me, it's in the middle when compared to the other CoD games. Far better than MW2 and BO, but not as good as WaW or CoD4.

SP I got through half of, but I already know what happens. And pretty much everyone dies except Price and Frost.

MP is pretty fun. About 4 hrs playtime, rank 37 IIRC. Leveling up your weapon is extremely easy, A few matches today and I'll have maxed out the M4. And yes, there are more killstreaks being used, but none ever last long. A lot of people use the SAM.

Haven't tried the actual Spec Ops missions, but I've played Survival. Highest was 17 solo, but it's a bitch to rank up.

Overall, its like a 7.5/10 for me.

@Jomick, use (color=#eaeaea)blah blah(/color) if you want text to appear invisible. Like I swear I'm straight.

MW3 is so laughably bad, I got around to playing it. It literally is no different from MW2. It's like a car that gets a Mid-cycle refresh: the looks are updated a bit, some new, slight features are added, but overall it's still the same car/game.

It really disappoints me that they spend so little time making these games. MW3 is just so obvious, they don't even try to mask it. I don't expect much more from Activision, but the fact that they don't even care to spend the few extra to make the game different, and people still buy it proclaiming it's new, fun, and awesome (the 2nd two are opinions i suppsoe) makes me sad.

Here is proof they are reusing stuff from COD4 and probably MW2 as well but I haven't seen the latter confirmed.

I can't speak for every player but I think the lean feature helps to immerse one in the game. Using surroundings for cover and it actually working, unlike in MW2, where your damn riot shield pops out of a wall and you get killed. Having lean also encourages more competitive gameplay, or at least smarter gameplay. I liked leaning in and out of cover, exposing less of your body and making it more difficult for the enemy to kill you. Plus it looks funny if you get a group of people next to each other and lean in unison.

I never really had any specific expectations for this game, other than the fact that it would be better than MW2/BO. To me it is, so that is all that matters.

Deathstreaks are back, discuss, people on another forum are defending both it and the fact that support streaks continue after you die.

Seriously? surely I am not the only person who thinks that this is ridiculous? Where's ViS when you need him?

Deathstreaks for the most part didn't bother me. Painkiller was most certainly annoying but not a game breaker.

Can you elaborate on support streaks? I can only assume you mean airstrikes and the like continuing to rack up kills after death. If that's the case, didn't that also happen in COD4? My memory is a bit rusty but IIRC, when you died in COD4 and had a helicopter up, you still earned kills and when you respawned, those kills could start your killstreak over again.

Same textures have been used in every single MW game. Barrels, pallets, brick textures, ALL THE FUCKING SAME.

I don't rage at deathstreaks either, but I think it's a bit dopey to reward someone for playing crap. I don't think they are a gamebreaker, but I would much rather prefer to see them removed from the game.

Support streaks continue even after you die, basically to get a 12 kill support killstreakall you have to do is get 12 kills, even if you die 10008976078978569 times you still get it as long as you get 12 kills. The killstreaks aren't the most deadly like a chopper gunner or anything but still. Capping a flag counts towards it, which IMO is a good idea, but dying and still getting a reward for it is a bit stupid IMO. Somehow no one can see where I am coming from.

Just saw the gold camo. It is the shittiest, not to mention laziest, haphazard attempt at gold coating I've ever seen.

[nerdrage]I'm willing to bet money that all they did was revisit the color files, slap #ffba52 (Very excellent gold color) on, and then recolor the specular map white (Which makes the guns shiny as hell).[/nerdrage]

i mad

EDIT: They fully cut the M240. Sledgehammer and IW, go eat a dick.

Seriously? surely I am not the only person who thinks that this is ridiculous? Where's ViS when you need him?
Death streaks: The ones I have aren't useful at all so I'm fine with them.

Support: I run support, and it may not reset but you're not getting any kills (except Stealth Bomber). So it balances.
