Since BO was terrible i took a break from cod, going into the top 100 eu 2v2 on starcraft instead. Now i'm back for Mw3. Is anybody else from mw2f playing?

So far only Char seems to have it on pc Kll. A few have it on console but no one seems really impressed.

kll, I plan on getting soon so once that happens I'd be happy to play with you. My only concern is our distance. I recall the two of us having major lag issues whilst playing MW2 so it stands to reason that'll be a problem for any game we play in a party. I'll let you know when I get it though.

Got it on PC and am really enjoying it. Graphics are great and play is really good. No more OMALOL. No more room camping with unlimited claymores through scavanger. Although I do miss my unlimited Javelin missiles!
Definately lovve the "Support" kill streaks that keep stacking even if you die. Also, the airdrop trap, aka, exploding care package. |

How are you finding match making vs dedis-with-no-xp?
Also, define "great graphics" - I assume what makes it great in your opinion would be more street clutter, more intricate people/weapon textures etc?

Match-making: I never had an issue with the way that MW2 found MP competitors, the only benefit to dedi servers was that you could permanently pan suspected cheaters. Yes some times you end up in a game against someone on the other side of the planet but even that is livable most of the time (just don't run around like a headless chook so much!).
Graphics: more detail and more clutter is good, "mist/smoke" is good on teh longer maps, makes us snipers work harder for our long shots. Also, the hit box has been changed, it is less like a big square now! It more closely ressembles a body shape: I went to shoot a guy in the legs as that was all I could see of him and the shot went between them, re-aimed at the thigh and bingo! I like that you have to be more accurate to score a hit. Support kill streaks: I like that they don't reset. It is a reward for supporting the team (most of the streaks don't benefit the individual) and not being a kill whoring maverick, yes you could take out the stealth bomber but they are a double edged sword in Hard Core (the only TDM I play) as they also kill your own team members, so they aren't very prevalent. Hackers: It was interesting to run into my first hacker within an hour of the games release! There are a few of them in soft caore but they don't last in hardcore as we start to team kill them very quickly now. They don't seem to like being dead for most of the game! Cheers |

The hitboxes have always been "body-shaped" (on PC at least, I thought they were when I played on PS3 too, but not so sure).
The only inaccuracies regarding hitboxes in any CoD game should only ever arise from lag, or occasional bugs that occur when a player sprints (basically lag anyways).

Me & a few others are playing it.
We only queue SnD though. There are a few things that still piss me off boundlessly & I had a major bug in the first few days that prevented me from playing, which made me see another Black Ops-doom-scenario (I quit black ops after a few days because of some mousebug: Black Ops: PC "Gun Jam" Bug Description - YouTube , which funny enough, was never fixed). My sensitivity in MW3 would be randomly increasing all the time (way worse than the BO bug), but it had smth to do with fraps & I managed to fix it. Anyhow once I got that fixed, I could actually play the game normal & it was half enjoyable. There are some things that are nice improvements over MW2, but there are also some things that make me frown. 1. Weapons still don't have SP implemented standard. Removing SP was an awesome idea from treyarch, but I despised the fact that it wasnt standard so much. Same for MW3. I cringe every time I hit a player 4,5 or even 6 times and he still gets away. 2. UAV on Support streaks. Even though I get the idea behind this, it results in perma-UAV being up, which gets really annoying if you run a non-assassin class. I love sniping, but I find myself barely doing so because the lack of assassin pisses me off to much. On the other hand, when you do run an assassin class, it's so much fun to punish people for relaying to much on their radar & pick them all off 1 by 1. Especially in SnD, this gets kinda annoying. UAV up every round after the first :[ 3. The spawning system seems to get worse every CoD, the MW3 version probably being the worst I ever came across (I love how I say this with every new CoD title). I think I've seen more killcams from people spawning right next or behind me in the week of MW3 than I have in MW2+BO together. And that's saying alot, because the MW2 & BO spawning system are the former numbers 1 & 2 on my list of "worst MP spawnsystems." 4. Knifing in MW3 is reeeeaaaaalllly weird. It's like a bugged version of the MW2/BO knife or smth. Sometimes I have "epic" blink-lunges, most of the time though, i'm missing point blank knife hits for no reason :|. 5. Last but not least, akimbo machine pistols. Oh when will they learn. This currently is by far the most frustrating thing Ive come across. I was really hoping for them to take lessons from MW2 & remove this, but it can't be helped I suppose. In general, machine pistol secondaries are kinda stupid (rather see shotgun secondary than machine pistols really), but akimbo again is just mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Running around with an SMG & being outgunned in CQC by a sniper's secondary feels just so terribly wrong. 6. Hitboxes are weird as fuck, like in every cod I guess. We've been laughing/raging our ass off in vent seeing some weird as fuck shots who were 100% off target hit & 100% accurate shots miss. 7. One of the major complaints from MW2 is that Killstreaks made the game to campy. What IW doesn't seem to get though, is that not only people hide to get killstreaks, but they also hide FROM them. Their "fixes" which are supposed to make the game less campy (point streak system to promote objective orientated play + support package), only made it worse. There seems to be way more killstreaks uptime in MW2 than in any other cod (excluding 48player shipment battles i guess). 8. Some more in-depth gun balancing issues seem to be present aswell, but I won't comment on those untill I seen the denkirson charts (which should be out soon). 9. Map design seems pretty neat, though to many small maps. Something I dno if it's because of map design or bad spawns, is that you never feel "safe" anywhere on a map. This game is making me so paranoid it's not even funny. The maps just seem to have way to many different angles to assault various positions from. Obviously, only 1 way to reach a chokepoint isn't good, but to many isn't enjoyable either. Again, it might just be the bad spawning system though. Overal, I'm enjoying the game ever since i fixed my mouse bug. IW fixed some stuff nicely, but made some mind boggling decisions aswell. The only thing you relaly need to keep in mind if you are wondering whether to still buy it or not is, do you really want to blow €60 on a MW2 expansion? Because this really isn't a new game. I'd probably buy the game again even after knowing all this + the 5h SP, but I guess not everybody feels the same. |

I can't believe I really sat here and read that post, chaR.
From the console POV, I agree with most of those points except the spawning system (only on rare occasions will it be some random BS spawn), and the Machine Pistols. I mean yeah, it's basically an SMG minus the use of Overkill, but for snipers especially it's a fallback gun. And the only one I use is the FMG9 with my Type 95 because the both have that weird handle looking thing. And at least they finally nerfed the Skorpion. THAT was such an OP but underused gun. |

Thanks chaR. See, I don't think MW3 is a straight up awful game. I just don't like that it's simply another continuation of MW2. I hope they fix some of the annoying things about the game, but I doubt that will happen. Either way, until the price comes down I won't get the game myself. It's not that I don't want it, I just don't really think it's worth $60, plus I don't have any money haha
