Just watched a Sandy Ravage video, apparently they've patched the Spas so we have a usuable shotgun now, hopefully it'll be as much fun as in the previous 2 games.
I also found out 2 things that are pretty cool:
1) If 3 team members all put up UAVs at the same time it turns into an advanced UAV rather than just increase sweep
2) Apparently when you kill someone you get access to their voice chat for the duration of killcam so you can hear them rage.
I had noted point 2 but just thought it was early-days glitches, that is a great addition, unless you end up killing 12 year olds a lot which does happen.

Nice subtle additions, it's a shame subtlety is really easy to miss in this game.

Care to elaborate on what you mean by advanced UAV? Seems pretty cool, although I probably would tire of the killcam chat, especially if you're trying to talk to somebody and some random kid from the other team interjects with shrieking.

The thing I liked most about MW3 is how it made most of the bad players (bad as in no idea how to change their playstyle to survive in BF3) I was usually teamed with on BF3 leave the game.

^^ That's weird Platy, I've found my BF score + KD going up quicker since MW3 came out, I assumed all the good players had left BF3 for a while...
@ Pants - the Advanced UAV is a cross between a UAV and Blackbird, you see the position and direction of the enemy but only in sweeps. It's one thing they actually improved from Blops because most people would agree the Blackbird was a touch OP.
Also, you can still mute the oposition so if you don't want to hear the rage you don't need to.
On the subject of UAVs I've started to see less of them. I think as people have unlocked more killstreak options the UAV has fallen by the wayside (as it always does in this game). This is another good development but I imagine it's more down to luck than to any developmental intuition by IW/SH.

The first console patch apparently sorted out matchmaking + shotgun hit detection. i've noticed the matchmaking but i have to say I tried the Spas and it was still shit.
I do seem to have some luck with the default Striker class, that can be quite fun.

That access to voice chat when you kill enemies is my single favourite new feature in MW3. Srsly.

Especially in SnD, whenever I kill someone I hear the squeaky crying of the other team. Easily the best new feature in the game.

Depends on what time of day you play. I work nights so my primary hours are 11pm-2am CST. Not many 12 year olds around at that time of night. Mostly 19-23 yr old basement shut-ins who kick my ass because they've already logged 80 hours of playing time since MW3 came out. It's a fun feature though.

If you want some really random chat, log in and play around 6-7am. I remember a very particular MW2 match with a 40 something goofball yelling about cheaters for 10 minutes every time he got killed in FFA. Quite an interesting cross section of North American scum.

In England recently a man was arrested for managing to find out the address of a little shit who was talking crap to him on Black Ops, he went round there and started administering a good beating until the boy's mum stepped in. Hilarious.

THE P99! <3

This is the first gun I truly love using. I lie the acr the M5 is ok. Like the type 95 and the mP7 is a great gun, but I have never really liked any of the mw3 weapons in the same way as I loved my Scar in mw2 or even the stoner in bo. This though is fabulous. It's rof does not seem to have a cap and as a true secondary for wipping out when your mag is empty (not using as a backup when your empty complete) is better imo than the mp's. I just can't get enough.

Call me crazy, but CoD4 SMG's in my opinion went from best to worst, MP5>Uzi>AK74u>Skorpion>P90

Never like the P90. Ever. And Akimbo in MW2 was overkill. Especially if it was Bling'd with Extended Mags.

Anywhos, sidearm is definitely P99 or MP412. Leaning more towards the latter.

But overall, I agree with Skuh. None of the weapons are fun to me. Even Black Ops had guns you could have fun with. Hence why I'm nonstop on GTA4.

Well, I think it was a little different on PC. IIRC, the P90 and Skorpion were the 2 SMG's that weren't allowed in promod due to them being "overpowered" which is one of the reasons I enjoyed the P90 so much. It had pretty nasty upward recoil but when used frequently that could easily be overcome. AIM FOR TORSO. INSTANT HEADSHOT!

P90 I can see as being overpowered.

Skorpion? Only "overpowered" thing about that is that it had no recoil. ANYTHING could kill faster than that, except CQC, where it even rivaled shotguns.

Anywhos, back on topic, if there's anything I like, it'd be Survival the how much more difficult it is to get a nuke now.

They've buffed the LMGs so there's effectively a whole new category of viable weapons to try. Haven't bothered yet though so can't say if any are fun...

hmm, love the headset thing where you hear them when you kill them, had some epic moments already from some kid yelling nooooooooooooo at the top of his voice to some old guy grumbling, if only the theatre mode captured this.

i like the kill confirmed game mode, totally stolen idea but hey it works.

also the fact that groundwar is playable for me again not an uber lag fest cause there is a billion killstreaks flying around at the same time like in mw2.

the p99 hells yeah, aint had this much fun with a pistol since the makarov.

Yeah, nothing funnier than hearing someone scream obscenities at you when you kill them.
I really didn't like Kill confirmed when it came out but have changed my mind now. I do like it.
I have same lag issues on mw3 as all cods when it comes to ground war.
P99 - still say this is the only gun I really truly love in mw3. Loved most guns in all previous cods, and I like some in mw3. Only the p99 has the same appeal as say the scar from mw2 or the stoner from blops tho.
