I need some help.

I've been trying to create a call of duty 4 weapons mod for personal use but whatever changes I make to the iw11.iwd, no effect is ever present. If I create it as a separate mod, it still changes nothing. As if I haven't changed anything at all. I made drastic changes and even deleted the weapons folder form iw11.iwd but the game did not respond?!?!

Could someone help or point me to a tutorial please. I don't uderstand what could be happening. Any help much appreciated.

PS: In Cod2 I've modded the game the same way as this, I know how to mod a bit, but no effect is ever present in Cod4...
