I notice that some people have different character models while playing different sides. Is there a way to unlock certain ones? I was interested in the ghillie suit. Thanks in advance.

Different weapon choices decide the 'look' of your character. for example, to have a character dressed in the Ghillie suit you must use a class containing a sniper rifle in the Primary weapon slot.
Assault, lmg, and smg also change the dress of your character but I'm not able to tell you what the differences are, someone else may be able to help?

Awesome, thanks. I wasn't sure if it was that or you unlocked them somehow. Since I don't play 3rd person much, I can't tell lol.

well afaik you only get one ghillie suit to use in all areas unless you complete the "ghillie in the mist" challenges, which is getting a certain number of one-shot kills with a sniper. You eventually will unlock the different camos for different levels, so you will have a camo that should disguise your player in each map. I think its like 250 one-shot kills for desert camo, which is the last one you unlock.

The riot shield guy normally has a blue helmet and looks really cool I think. When I'm an assualt riffle guy and I pick up a riot shield then it looks really wierd because he's not wearing the riot shield uniform.

I think depending on what army thing your in you have different clothes also, which depend on the map. Like on sub base, one team is usually the navy seals, and wears black suits with flippers and stuff, where the other team is wearing regular white clothes, like in my avatar.
