Does Stopping Power benefit the Spas very much. Have recently started doing some SpasLol, and was wondering if SP was worth it or if I should use another perk.

SP doesn't benefit the SPAS much because:
Each shot from the SPAS inflicts 320 - 160 DMG, well enough to be a OHK in it's effective range. Each shot spreads 8 pellets each worth 40 - 20 DMG. It's more of how many pellets will hit the target. With SP added you have 448 - 224. 8 pellets each worth 56 - 28 DMG. The advantage from SP is that you'll need less pellets to hit your target to be a OHK. If you have a good aim, you don't need SP to make the SPAS effective. But if you REALLY want to make sure the enemy will die use SP. I would recommend Lightweight(pro) with the SPAS.

well it all depends on your setup. Like HBK said, the spas does not greatly benefit from stopping power, like the UMP. Use them together, and you can completely through out stopping power. The only time SP will be useful is trying to kill someone with pain killer....
i find i do really well with marathon hardline ninja, and i get like 4-5 care packages a game, 1-2 harriers, 3-4 preds

I use the silencer with the spas and there is barely a difference in killing power besides a little range.

Basically, SP reduces the amount of pellets needed to kill by 1 at long range and 1 at short range.
This means at close range, only 2 pellets need hit the target to get a kill. This may be helpful if you enter CQC with several enemies. At long range, it means that 4 pellets need hit the target instead of 5. This gives a greater chance to OHK at a greater range. If you believe that is worth it over lightweight, or another 2nd tier perk, then use it. /thread.

stopping power is for you if you have bad aim, or you want the extra extra distance OHK....but thats pretty far with the Spas, there really is no point

I don't like auto-shotguns at all. I used to use one on my sniper class but it just felt cheap. I prefer the spas, striker, dual rangers or an 1887.

m1014 is not auto, its lik the striker except stronger with less ammo
and dual rangers/1887's are as cheap (IMO) as the AA-12 but if SP benefits one shotgun the most, it's probably the AA-12

Really? Thought the M1014 was auto. Anyways I don't like the lack of ammo. I dont consider the rangers very cheap at all. You get two huge double blasts and then you are screwed with reload time. The 1887 I haven't seen anyone use dual in a long time. I like using single for novelty but stopped using double a long time ago. Dual rangers are kinda like the m1014 as they have same number of shots, high damage, need constant reload and are screwed when empty.

It will increase the hip accuracy of the SPAS by reducing it's spread, so it increases the OHK chances at farther distances by inflicting more damage into a single target. If you don't use SA the SPAS will have a larger spread; which can kill multiple enemies in one shot if they're close enough to each other, you'll also have a larger chance to hit your targets at closer ranges, but sacrificing those extra OHK chances at farther ranges. Basically SA gives you a bit more range. and no SA is more effctive at closer ranges, for clearing rooms etc....
