No, it doesn't. Idk about the timer, but I know it does more damage than a frag.

The timer is 2.5 secs, it has a larger blast radius than the frag, it also has the highest explosive damage out of all the equipment in MW2, it's the only moving/thrown explosive that can blow up the large gas tanks in Terminal and Highrise w/o Danger Close.

yeah it definitely has more damage than a frag, and the timer is 2.5 seconds IIRC. tried to find a source...

C4 has a larger blast radius, Semtex has a smaller explosion but inflicts more damage in a smaller radius.

But in a smaller area c4 would kill anyways, so does the semtex-more-damage thing only apply to killing exploding tanks? lol

C4 is useless pretty much unless you pop it in a doorway and detonate it immediately like a semtex, or if you plant it on a flag or bomb and detonate it when the announcer says its being capture or whatnot.

It'll inflict that "extra power" to anything with hitpoints humans/barrels/explosives etc.......

Semtex is basically more of a precision explosive, it has a smaller blast radius but concentrates it's power in that tight radius, C4 has a larger blast radius that can reach more enemies farer apart but doesn't pack the same punch.


In a some scenarios eg. You throw a Semtex and an injured enemy using painkiller and he is in the Semtex lethal range you'll have larger chances of killing him and if you don't you'll require less bullets to finish him off, while the C4 will have a larger explosion it won't concentrate as much power into that single target.

But Semtex's extra power may be overkill in normal circumstances.

So it's really a matter of preference TBH.
