If this has been posted before, please don't bite my head off lol, I searched in Quick Q and A and I don't know where Tactical Discussion went.
Anyway, I'm a level 12 (I think), and I've been focusing on unlocking sights for different guns. No guns have the silencer unlocked (except for the SPAS12, and let's face it, that thing's useless with a silencer). So my question is, barring silencers, claymores and Ninja Pro, what's the best bet for a good Search and Destroy class? (I know that's an oxymoron xD) I'm using now: M4A1... just an M4A1, nothing special SPAS-12 Red Dot Sight Semtex Stun Grenades Marathon (Sleight of Hand isn't really necessary since M4 reloading is among the fastest in the game, and nor is Scavenger) Stopping Power (an M4A1 is basically an ACR with faster ROF so this is a must) Commando (no Ninja FTL, Steady Aim is useless on an assault rifle and I refuse to use Scrambler) Any better suggestions? I get my ass handed to me regularly on this class, but maybe I'm to blame for that.

I use SoH in S&D for the quick reloading in tight situations. Nothing worse than having reloading and getting shot.
Other than that, that's what I was using after I just prestiged.

Well, obviously a silencer would be best for the M4A1 - Team Deathmatch and Domination are both better modes to unlock attachments, since you won't be racking up very high kill counts in SnD.
The M4A1 really isn't very good, you'd probably be better off with a SCAR-H. Better than either is a TAR, unlocked at rank 21 if I remember correctly. My preferred classes for SnD are: Tar w/ Silencer Spas w/ anything Semtex, Stuns Sleight of Hand Pro Stopping Power Ninja Pro Alternately, a UMP45 silenced with Marathon/Lightweight/Anything is an excellent class for flanking and rushing. Sleight of Hand Pro gives a very nice bonus of halving the time it takes to ADS (Aim Down Sights), so it's worth considering over Marathon. Commando is fine until you get Ninja, but I personally don't play SnD until I unlock Ninja - HBS are very common. |

IMO the best perks for S&D are Sleight of Hand, Stopping Power and Steady Aim. If you aren't going to use a silencer then I would suggest the TAR. It's a great gun and quite powerful with good irons.

I Used the TAR before I prestiged, and I would use it again if I had it unlocked. I only have the Famas, M4 and SCAR, mp5k, UMP, Vector, RPD, and the L86 as primaries as of now.

Then I would suggest the UMP or M4. I <3 the FAMAS but personally don't recommend it for S&D unless you are using SoH and maybe SP.

The SCAR really is better than the M4A1. They have similar times to kill, but the SCAR scales better with Stopping Power. As far as accuracy goes, ignore the in-game stat charts - they are lies. The only thing that determines 'accuracy' is recoil.
Although the SCAR does have more vertical recoil than the M4A1, there isn't that much of a difference, and it's much easier to compensate for since the SCAR pretty much has no horizontal recoil. Hell, ViS said it best. |

My 3 S&D suggestions that I primarily use:
1) UMP w/ silencer (sorry but anything else is useless) Marathon Lightweight Steady Aim/Commando Pistol w/ tac knife Semtex Stun 2) Tar w/ Holo (use a silencer though tbh spas w/ fmj SoH SP SA/Ninja (HBS more prevalent in S&D) Semtex Stun 3) FAMAS w/ silencer spas w/ FMJ SoH SP Ninja Semtex Stun i don't feel you should use anyother weapons than these bar maybe the MP5 |

unlocked a silencer for the UMP, so thats what I'll use from now on. Everyone else is doing it...

UMP45 Silenced and Rapid Fire SPAS-12 Foregrip and FMJ (for baiting... hehe) Bling Pro Stopping Power Pro (but I want to switch to Cold Blooded when I get pro for that) Ninja Pro Semtex Stuns UAV Predator Emergency Airdop (which almost never happens in SnD)

I called in an EAD the other day in SnD, because I forgot to take it off before I started. I managed to call it in, kill 2 guys, grab an airstrike from it, drop it on the map, kill another camping the bomb they'd just planted and defuse the bomb. That was an epic round

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned using a Marathon, Lightweight and Commando class.
If you aren't using a silencer, the red dot that appears on the HUD when you fire is always going to give away your general position. Using Marathon and Lightweight (or CB if you prefer) is going to help you move a lot quicker and avoid being rushed by the rest of the enemy team when you kill someone. I suggest using an SMG like the MP5k with a handgun, as a shotgun is not really needed due to the MP5k's high DPS at close range.

Helps a lot the next round to have all that crap, and a five killstreak is very attainable near the middle of a S&D match. Definitely a good call on Ninja Pro. That's pretty much the quintessential S&D tier 3 perk. Good luck, bro!

Thanks for the help.
I switched out Bling for SoH, and SP for Cold Blooded. Kept the silencer on the UMP and switched to just FMJ for the SPAS. Personally I can't stand the Striker. It's not very powerful and the spread/range leaves something to be desired. It's almost always a 2-shot kill in my experience, which a shotgun should never be. I prefer it to the 1887 however... those things are useless. The SPAS is a good short range weapon and even does decently in medium range situations. Shoot, hide then shoot again if the first doesn't kill them. Extended Mags is basically a Striker anyway, which I'm well on my way to getting. Hardline has also not worked very well for me, and the Pro part of it is actually terrible, not worth giving up my invisibility for. I use UAV/Counter UAV/Predator so those KS's aren't hard to get in the first place. Sleight of Hand just beat out Marathon because I don't want to run around like a douche until I get killed. I prefer fast reload times to unlimited sprint... even if I CAN get up obstacles like a pro hurdler. Also for the CB>SP debate, I chose cold blooded because stopping power does little for the UMP. I dont mind 1 more shot... it beats 5 (!!!) at long range for the MP5K. Plus I wanted a farkin awesome ninja stealth class.. when I'm not playing SnD I put Marathon on and flank people. And yes, SnD rules, I just wish I was better at it

I hear you, man. It's actually pretty tough to switch between SnD and TDM because you have to completely readjust your mindset away from "no respawning", you know?
What works for me is beginning a COD session with SnD and then playing TDM. Keeps your senses sharper and your kdr is usually close to 2:1, in my experience.

I'm new to SnD and just recently started playing (30 matches so far), we mostly play HC SnD and I'm still learning the ropes since I normally play Domination.
I use: ACR w/ silencer and HBS Spas Claymore Stun Bling CB PRO Ninja or Sitrep

Oh yeah, and CB Pro is ultimate for SnD. Overall, that's a really solid class.
