How do they work in this game? why do my claymores randomly blow up when I walk near them, not enemies and not when I try to plant a 3rd claymore in one life, when I simply walk up to them, doesn't happen all of the time but it does often enough to annoy me and cost me some killstreaks.

I'd say either an enemy ran by it as you walked near it, bad luck.
im pretty sure you know this but just saying, your claymore will have your faction's sign above it, an enemy claymore will have none.

I know the difference between an enemy claymore and my own claymore, and no one else went near it, it was my claymore that I set down then I ran out of the room, walked back in about 5 seconds later no one else around and it blew up.

Maybe somebody did Ninja craziness and blew yours up, and replaced it with theirs...
i really have no idea, that's really weird, i hope its not gonna happen to me now... but i'm not using clays atm. but still if its another f'd up thing i wouldn't be surprised.

it wasn't a hacked game either correct?

Someone might have shot it. I've gotten lots of kills that way via SitRep and an enemy claymore. Great laughs for me

I've been killed several times by my own claymore's. No idea why it happens but I may not even be that close to it and it explodes. Or, if I'm too close to it and an enemy trips it, not only does he die, I die as well. I don't recall dying by clay's in COD4 but I could be wrong, it's possible that it's just a problem w/ MW2.

I have never experienced anything like that, other than an enemy triggering or shooting it.

On the other hand, whenever I set a Sentry Gun, and decide to move it later, it destroys itself when I finally place it down.

I hate it when I put down a claymore and then instantly an enemy runs through it and it kills me but not him.

maybe someone had sitrep on and shot it out when you ran back up the stairs he may just have had lucky timing, did it register as an enemy kill or a suicide?

i feel it's to easy to dodge a claymore in this one, but that only leads to you placing them better.

there is also more perks now that help you get round them, espescially marathon, which means you can pretty much just run past them unhurt. combined with light weight and commando you have a cheap kill, the guy runs up triggers your claymore, you turn around to see a guy lunging at your face. thats really annoying.

is it sit rep pro or scrambler pro that delays the claymore aswell, thats pretty gay too.

Where you there? did you see it? no did I? yes it was my own claymore, no one else went near it no one shot it nothing, I planted a claymore, ran out of the room, ran back in and it blew up resulting an apparent suicide, no scrambler pro no nothing.

Sitrep is win.

Spying a red dot over the other side of the map, and shooting it through a wall with my Barrett w/ FMJ, = PROFIT.

I actually got a double kill on Quarry playing SnD, using Sitrep and my Barrett. I was ADSing near their spawn, and I suddenly saw some red flash up. I just sprayed a few bullets at it, and was like WTF!? when I got a double kill.

It seems that for both Chris and I they register as suicides. I was killed by my own claymore 2 days ago and it just shows the claymore symbol next to your name as how you died. No other persons name, just you and the claymore. And I was in a room alone. I know because I was camping.

hmmm very odd, i haven't had this happen yet (fingers crossed it doesn't) and can see why it would piss you off.

can't have been delayed by scrambler then as you would have seen your radar scramble, maybe it just glitched for whatever reason and registered you as the bad guy.

The only thing i can think of is that an enemy runs past your claymore and you die when next to it, very unlucky ,your opponent has scrambler pro which makes the claymore blow up later or someone with sitrep shoots your claymore when your standing next to it!!!I have videos on youtube, on my montage there is a clip on overgrown of me doging a claymore if that helps you. Yesterday I ran straight in a Claymore as it was being placed, as it blew me to pieces I noticed that the guy that placed it died with the blast, in the kill feed I saw that his death registered as a Claymore suicide.

i use alotta clays and the only thing i can think of if its a Suicide kill is either someone ran past the doorway/wall or whatever and tripped it somehow as they went by... I notice if u put it too close to certain thin walls or too close to a doorway it will go off sometimes when someone goes past.
Other than that... Maybe you accidently put a 3rd claymore down and blew yourself up. Only can have 2 clays out at a time and if a 3rd is placed the first will explode causing suicide if u get caught by it.
