Default C4
This happened twice today. I was using c4 for the first time. I threw it and went to detonate it. I wouldn't explode. I assumed that it was shot and i kept running around. Pretty soon i ran over the spot i threw the c4 and as i stepped on it it killed me. Am i doing something wrong?

I haven't had the bit about it exploding on me, but I think if it gets flashbanged or stunned or something then you can't detonate it for a few seconds, that's had me killed a few times.

Can't believe I've been playing cod this long and I only realised a month ago that claymores can get flashbanged lol

There are two reasons why this might happen. If the c4/claymore gets special grenaded or gets scrambled the detonation is significantly delayed. What happened to you, is that you detonated it while one of these things was happening and accidently ran over it as the delay ended. Its just bad luck.

does c4 really get delayed by scrambler??? huh i never knew that.

On a related note, I know you can double tap reload to detonate it, however, either there's a delay or i have to triple/quad tap it for it to detonate... how to you get it to blow up consistently while double tapping?

also i agree it may have been stunned or scrambled and you went over it after the delay was over

completely OT, but I just completed the return to sender challenge because I was shooting a guy as he was running up the stairs to the middle building in Favela. He ran up, started getting shot, and threw the C4 at me like a grenade (I presume to detonate it when it landed). Anyway, one of my bullets hit it right as he threw it and I got the kill...good times.

Same stuff happens to me. When I feel like screwing around with C4, Riot Shield, Scavenger, I go to double tap detonate cause it's much faster and it doesn't detonate until the 3rd try or something. Maybe I'm not hitting it fast enough every time. >_>

most likely stunned or flashed or scramblered.
It also simply might have been controller lag (rare but possible in short bursts) Usually occurs when you have low battery
