Default Claymores do do this right?

When you plant a claymore on top of some stairs, someone can trip the lasers while UNDER the lasers right? It's just something that's been bugging me for a while.

Alsoooo...

Why is it that sometimes the claymore lasers stick straight out on stairs but then other times the claymore goes on an angle and the lasers go diagonal? It bugs me.

Yes, people can trip claymores while below/above the laser (there is probably some limit as to how far above/below it they can be).

Another question while we're on the topic. Why is it people seem to be able to sprint through my claymores and not get blown up, but I can't sprint through other peoples?

Am I just placing them badly?

It could be any one of the three things, Scrambler Pro, LW, or bad placement.

Probably bad placement. They usually have Marathon on, ( but I've been paying attention to the perks). PLenty of time its CB and Commando or something.

This morning a guy without LW or Scrambler ran straight at a Claymore (head on, it was in a stairwell) and managed to run past it before it exploded. Only thing he had was marathon. I know because I watched him sprint past it and kill me in the kill cam.

marathon wont jump claymores, lightweight how ever will

Also flashes and stun grenades will disable them for a short while

Occasionally I have been able to run through a claymore with Marathon and CB, I have only ever managed it on an smg class (though sniper would be same movement speed). Sometimes I can run through, others I hear the click and jump and can survive some. This is down to placement of clay and environment (wall protecting you from some of blast). I don't think you can guarantee to survive with just Marathon. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong

There's about a .75s delay between being set off (the click) and actually exploding. It does damage in a ~140 degree arc. So you can run past them even without lightweight, it just depends on its position and how close you are to it. I always position mine at an angle which works out well.

ALWAYS put claymores at a diagonal angle. Running past a claymore that looks one direction is mad easy, but if the claymore is diagonal it'll follow through and kill them.

It bugs me when people think marathon makes you run faster. All it does is make you run longer.

to set a claymore at an angle on stairs you have to look down while planting.

I sprint through them all the time, and not even have the screen get bloody. You have to make sure you're as close as you can be without setting it off, and maybe lightweight helps.

Exactly, lightweight makes you move faster.

Yep. They could pass the first line but the second would catch up.

Triple post, FTW?
And CB has no effect on claymores.
