Default reduced damage?

just me or are some guns doing less damage recently? i hit a guy with 3 bullets from a Tar21 with stopping power 1 to the head , 2 to the chest, for him to carry on running round a corner!
normally this would kill them. and it keeps happening.
i know i'm hitting as i get the hit markers.
had this happen on several different guns where as before i would killed with the landed shots

Sometimes bullets don't always register.

Recoil, and/or lag. Even if the lag is in the milliseconds, because bullets travel instantaneously in this game, they can hit in the arm, or miss completely.

if you're firing three shots in quick succession it's very plausable that some miss.

Hitmarkers stay on your screen for a few tenths of a second, so I'm sure it's possible to mistake a single hitmarker for two seperate ones in quick succession.

This is getting repetitive.

TAR w/ SP equals 42 base damage and therefore 3 hit kill.

Either you are blind, or lying.

It's this. I've thought this too but I know that it's just that the hitmarker stays on the screen.

This game can give false hitmarkers aswell. So you could get two hitmarkers with a tar using stopping power close range and only one bullet truly registered.

I was playing cod 4 the other day and my friend was in last stand in a private match and i shat him in the head with out him even moving and got a hitmarker(this wasn't as he was going down, it was a couple seconds after he fell)

EDIT:

Tar has 40 base damage without stopping power making it a 2 shot kill with stopping power, so you are either stupid or a douchebag

Tar does 40 damage at close range, and 30 at long range. Therefore the lowest damage it can have (BASE DAMAGE) is 30.

The point I was trying to make was this. A Tar-21 with the perk Stopping Power has a minimum damage of 42 at long range, and therefore is ALWAYS a 3 shot kill, and it is impossible to get 3 hitmarkers, UNLESS he shot through a wall.
