Hey, i've been using the FAMAS and M16A4, both great guns, with red dot or holo. but i want to know, what effect would a silencer have. is it going to reduce range/damage significantly? is it not worth it?

Click spoiler in my Signature, Click link, then compare the guns. It's really up to you. Silencer will drop the high end damage by approx. 38 meters.

The FAMAS holds its high end damage out to a further distance than the M16. However, the M16 has a holo sight bug that reduces the recoil.

A silencer on either gun, with stopping power, is still a one burst kill if the entire burst connects. Without stopping power, you are reducing the distance for one burst kills on both guns, although the FAMAS will have a longer obe burst kill range.

Bookmark the sight in Oz's sig, it will help you many, many times.

The ''Stats'' of the guns say that the Famas is more accurate, while the M16 is more powerful ... IMO they got these ''Stats'' mixed up .

WITH SP equipped they both will kill in one burst in any range(2 hits in close/middle range 3 hits in long range) with or without silencer.

They both have the same DMG 40-30 base, 56-42 with SP. The FAMAS however has a slight longer MAX DMG range than the M16, but with SP that becomes obsolete. I would not recommend using burst weapon w/o SP.

The FAMAS is a little more accurate than the M16, EXCEPT when you equip the Holographic sight on the M16, due to a glitch it's spread is reduced to less that of the FAMAS.
