Default Opinions/Experiences with Game Battles?
A couple of us are thinking of setting up a Game Battles clan as a way to expand our online experience.
Now I know a few of you will dismiss GB because it isn't 'pro' enough, but that's exactly what we want - a fun but competetive arena that's a step up from random lobbies, nothing too serious.
all looks pretty straightforward but I don't want to go ahead and waste our time getting set up to find that it's badly run and full of unreliable teams. Anyone got any good or bad stories to share?
Oh, and if you might be interested in joining us send me a PM, no criteria although being UK-based probably for the best to ensure minimal lag.

Good place to start. Playing against half-decent players will improve your skills.

IMO, it's great as long as you don't play a team of 12 year olds.

Well, my few experiences were like this "Hey, you got the time wrong in the rules. You forfeit this game." "You guys forfeit because you don't agree that this is the right map." Then maybe ONE team "Alright good game guys." By the way, that map one, they got the map wrong and wouldn't change it. We reported and technically won. :P

Basically... I faced a lot of whiny bitches so now my team's record is 2-4. 3/4 being rule whores.

Cheers for the input, kind of what I expected. It's an attractive set up though because the ladder format caters for dedicated and casual teams alike.
Shame there isn't an age limit - tehcnically you'd think they wouldn't allow under 18s to enter a competition playing an 18+ game but that's the internet for you......

cannot stand gamebattles. i feel like it ruins the game playing tdm on gb, just not fun to camp imo
